[Conway] Reisgnation & Updates
MrConway
Today I announce my resignation from the Presidential Election. I immediately apologize to anyone this affects. Currently in the Irish Army we are in a not so good supply situation, supplies aren’t being given to soldiers and the whole system has collapsed. These failures within the IA almost led me to leave. After a meeting with a few members I volunteered to take Commander, and I was accepted. I feel I can’t be your President whilst leading the Irish Army due to the vast amount of work required in one of the jobs let alone two.
But don’t get me wrong, I will continue to serve Ireland this month. I have joined up with my fellow candidate MUFC92 and am going to become his Vice President and Minister of New Citizens if he is elected. I am now the Commander of the Irish Army. I am still working alongside Columbia on trying to boost our population. As Vice President under MUFC92 I will work on the goals I set to revive our society.
I would like to thank all those who supported my Campaign, Bassy and Eire Aonair, MikeBane and the Irish Radical Socialist Party and Bean&Teddy and the Independent Labour Party. Also thank you to my cabinet members who agreed to serve Ireland if I was elected. Special thanks to Columbia who has been alongside me since the moment I began my campaign and to Nogin The Nog who over the last two weeks has taught me so much more about the Economics of this game.
eIreland, we have done so many great things recently, we have been more powerful than ever and we can’t let down our momentum. So when the 5th of January comes please vote for MUFC92.
The new VAT rates of 25% seem high I know. Prices soared above market price but was this the taxes fault? In my next article I will discuss my opinion on these taxes and show how “badly” they affected our GM’s. Support the rises in tax, they will not be permanent, they are short term to finance MPP’s. Do your bit for Ireland and ask your TD to vote yes.
I will return to the Presidential Elections some day. May looks promising. Cheers o7

The people who agreed to serve in your Cabinet should have been given the courtesy of a PM. Other than that, good luck to you.

Okay, well best of luck with your future endeavours!

hope you change something in IA
Guy who runs IA is more important than the pres anyway.
hope some of the people in your cabnet make it to MUFC. Good luck.
o7 Good luck in the IA.
Voted.
The new 5% rate will still QUINTUPLE the tax revenues from food and weapon sales. It will be more than enough to fill our small country's needs. You had good intentions, you just overreached.
I wish you were not dropping out of the election, it would have been an excellent race to watch. Still, you have every right to do what you think is best. I hope you reconsider a run at CP in the future. I think you would do a fine job.
@Bhane I am next available in May ; ]
great teamwork from great guy o/

Was looking forward to an interesting election, As for NEW VAT rates they are 5% not 25% , when the rate changed to 25% ,prices soared by 25% , Saying the tax hike wasnt responsible is almost as silly as our MoF stating at the time that prices wouldnt rise and money would just appear in everyones pockets
@ Cas I will discuss both these taxes, even old 1% in next article. And some prices went up by 40% not 25% ?
I am sure your work in IA will be also great and looking forward to cooperate with you whenever will be needed again o7
Cas:
Bank subsidized weapons on the mkt at 12-20cents above the traditional 1%Vat rate in Q5&6 weapons.
Other Q level weapon prices are not of much relevance.
Indeed when Bank offers on the mkt were bought out prices did rise.
Irish producers responded to the 24% VAT increase by raising their prices 32-48%.
As for 'Silly': the treasury earned 81,000IEP above the average within those 3days.
Claiming that our handful of producers, or our 174 citizens payed an extra 80k in 3days...
Now THAT is silly.
Glory to the Irish Army, highest honour to serve.
best of luck, Mr
