[Appleby] Dapper, BigAnt and Ajay walk into a bar...

Day 3,453, 06:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Afternoon gents o7,

In a bizarre series of events this morning it appears the declaration of another Ajay PTO bid came simultaneously to our Chaz falling asleep down the pub and missing his own nomination. Contributing to the farce it appears, of all moments, BigAnt chooses now to make his comeback

Those looking for a happy ending to this madness will be resolutely disappointed to hear the placeholder left instead is infamous belligerent yours truly…

Adding to the headache of the situation, neanderthal collective ‘British Patriots’ having coincidentally swelled in multis recently and will make I expect quite a tight election. If you’re interested in joining us I’ve managed to throw together a team in the eleventh hour to fight this election with in the event we block him out again:-

vCP – Dishmcds
vCP - Certacito
MoFA – Paul Tyndale
MoD – Chaz
MoF – Huey George
MoEd – Addaway

In keeping with my last rant about devolving aspects of the CPship I encourage anyone who has a bit of time and interest in seeing how gov works to let us know if they’d like to get involved. There will be a few new initiatives in each department and this will need proper help to truly get off the ground. This is especially true of Chaz’s MoD ambitions where we will ideally need 4/5 people to organise and coordinate it over the month.

A quick tl;dr of his ideas on using COs to encourage national damage:

"UK Citizens Only
- By utilising the advanced option we can ensure rewards go only to our own citizens.
Fair(ish) Rates
- Rates will be set so hopefully players earn around the same return for their efforts with higher rates in lower divisions. .
Easy to Monitor
- Expenses are easy to track through COs. This will help identify where improvements are needed.
Damage Concentration
- A base rate of COs will be placed on the most important campaign (CoTD) daily with increased rates in the most important battles. By offering a cash incentive this should increase our presence and damage in important rounds.
Investment
- By putting money into players pockets we will be investing taxes back into the community and rewarding activity. The COs will be on top of regular supplies and the cash can therefore be used to wherever the player sees fit.
Opt In/Activity
- Players merely need to fight in the right battles and click a button to receive the cash, removing unnesecary 'red tape' or workload on the MoD. It also means the rewards are going to players actively fighting."

And a tl;dr for the other departments:-

Financial Affairs
After a chat with Huey he seems comfortable with restarting the Bank of England Trust. This is essentially a joint venture between the treasury and private citizens to take advantage of the monetary market, typically returning around £3/4k a day to our national accounts. Depending on how satisfied the cabinet is with the state of finances we may look into re-issuing gold loans for training grounds upgrades and contracts as they come up.

Foreign Affairs
After Aaron has served almost continuously in the role as Foreign Minister I’m confident that Paul has the caution and perseverance necessary to replace him. Crucially we will be getting articles up again so people have a clue what’s actually going on, but more importantly encouraging others to join us in re-establishing decent communications with friends and allies abroad.
