Your morning Spamspresso - {Art Prize Winner}

Day 5,611, 00:44 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Good morning Citizen-Scientists, would-be Citizen-Scientists, and those with poorer judgment.

I am writing this morning to offer some quick-fire updates from the world of Spamicans and the house of parliament that resides within it. Firstly the Spam project is evidently working - turnout up, and the number of topics Congress want to discuss is up, with UKRP, GStQ and TRS all bringing topics to the table. You may already have seen some of the discussions taking place in the national feed, and over the weekend you may see a couple more. The feed is a brilliant way for the discussions to happen in a place where the spam-hungry public can see them. At the right temperature, Spam is transparent*.

As Speaker I have been championing this common-sense transition by encouraging TUP colleagues who have said they have trouble finding the feed**, and supporting WRP colleagues who feel that congress shouldn't discuss anything and are presumably just there for gold. They represent you! Last months changes give larger windows for discussions and debates and presently input is registered and votes counted wherever they are cast, so personal preference is baked in. Everyone is happy!

As always if you have any questions about Congress, get in touch. If you have any ideas or proposals you would like Congress to consider, also get in touch. Even if it is just to suss out the feasibility or sharpen some wording - I am more than happy to assist.

It is important to lift the lid on epolitics

Now for the real update...

After announcing an Art Prize a few weeks ago I am pleased to say that the eUK National Gallery has another masterpiece. Although I promised a vote on the feed I am afraid to say that upon casting my eyes on the work it became evident no such vote was needed***. A small shame as I know TUP Grandees were looking forward to interacting with the feed, but there is always next time.

So the Winner of the Art Prize, and new Artist at Residence in eWindsor castle is.... Rory Winterbourne II for his painting The First Supper. Remember! If viewing this art makes you feel anything from euphoria to rapture then JOIN TRS, and feel it every e-day! Keep the Spamdslide sliding.

The First Supper. Rory Winterbourne II, Spam on tarpaulin.

Our Expert said: "Rory's masterpiece shows his definitive move away from Realism, and a full embrace of both neo-impressionism and Spam. Note the Turner-esque glimmer of light beaming from the Halo and catching the Spam lid, whilst the bold and incandescent brush strokes convey both the artists' enthusiasm for the subject matter whilst presenting a nebulous form in Christ-Sambo himself. This form is contrast with the structure of the Spam-can, clearly defined with harsher tones and shadows, suggestive of course that it is the Spam itself that provides the hard reassurance and structure for Christ to develop on - a striking symbolism not unfamiliar to the eUK today."

Our public rep said: "Ay was bossin' like. Made me hungry. Where's that fiver yaw promised..."

Prizes are on their way to Rory via carrier pigeon.

As always, thank you for reading and have a good weekend.
