Will the Real Pizza the Hut Please Stand Up?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Will the Real Pizza the Hut Please Stand Up?

A campaign of fear and harassment.

Inviting historical enemies of the USA to join your party.

Using hackneyed anti-communist rhetoric straight out the 1950's.

Adopting the language of irrational right-wing idolatry and even fascist rhetoric to crush dissent.

Who does that sounds like?

It has come to our attention that certain sectors of the USA's ruling class have decided to out-Pizza the Pizza.

A few facts for your consideration...

* The Socialist Freedom Party is the longest-standing 6th party in the USA. Since the SFP was formed, it has never changed its name or suffered through a crisis of leadership. It is far and away the most successful 6th party in terms of a group of players getting together to have fun by playing the game the way they want to play it.

* The Socialist Freedom Party stands for exactly what its name implies: Socialism, meaning social solidarity and a worker-oriented economy, and Freedom, meaning the right to express your views freely, to decide how you want to play the game, and respect for the opinions and choices of others.

* The Socialist Freedom Party is a multi-tendency party that welcomes players with a diverse set of viewpoints. Our basis of unity is the Party Program and the Party Constitution.

* The Socialist Freedom Party is a proud member of the Internationale, an organization that groups together leftist parties from around the world who share similar goals. This organization is unique within eRepublik for refusing to go along with the EDEN vs. Phoenix super-alliance paradigm, bringing together players across those divides to promote critical thinking, alternative economic policies, and international community.

* When the USA was threatened with annihilation in the summer of 2009, the Socialist Freedom Party did everything in its power to defend the homeland.

* It was the Socialist Freedom Party, in the person of former Senator Robert Bayer, who launched the most devastating criticisms of Ajay Bruno, before he became Pizza the Hut. To characterize Pizza the Hut as a "liberal" or a "leftist" is ridiculous. It is an attempt to malign leftists -- and especially the SFP -- by sowing confusion and lies.

* The eUS Government does a disservice to all of its citizens by attacking the Socialist Freedom Party.

October Surprise!
by Osmany Ramon

Our readers may be familiar with the phenomenon of the October surprise in real life American campaign politics.

The idea is that a scandal or other news items breaks in October just a week or two before the election that either makes one candidate look good or one candidate look bad. Often the candidate that benefits from the breaking news is accused of sitting on the information until it can be strategically leaked at the right time to have the most positive impact on their election.

One of the most famous instances of the October surprise is when Ronald Reagan allegedly made a deal with the Iran hostage takers to not release the hostages while Carter was president which made Carter look weak and may have cost him re-election.

It would seem that our own rulers have studied the phenomenon well and have recreated it here to great effect. Anyone else notice the congressional election pattern over the last year and a half? Instead of an October surprise, we have the 23rd surprise when on the 23rd of each month, the eUS faces the largest PTO threat we have ever faced and drastic measures are taken to stop those efforts. Anti-democratic efforts, even.

This month, the Federal Election Commission took it upon itself to tell the eAmerican people who the real candidates for Congress are.

No surprise, they are mostly incumbents, friends of the FEC, those in bed with Administration and generally those who are obsessed with maintaining their power or rather the benefits of that power: your tax dollars. Those that didn’t make the cut included smaller 6th party candidates and anyone who represents a challenge to the power structure we have suffered under since practically the beginning of this nation.

These efforts are not new.

Since I started playing nearly a year and half ago, I have seen calls for taking Congressional elections out of game in so-called primaries over and over again. When these efforts don’t flat out fail as they did recently in the presidential election, these efforts have largely been defeated over and over again but only because those who are for them lose interest. They refuse to hear arguments about the sacredness of the vote in a democracy, holes in their plans to ensure the vote is both accessible to all eAmericans and safe from tampering. Now, it seems, we will just forgo the semblance of democratic process and have some group of Administration officials declare who is and who is not a real candidate. And all because of the constant and pervasive threat of PTO.

The detractors of democracy will argue that critics like me are just bitter because our candidates were snubbed and we are more concerned with partisanship than protecting the country from our enemies abroad. Well I say, if we undermine democracy at the drop of a hat and in doing so continue to let these scoundrels rob the eAmerican people blind, then why should I care if this country is PTO’d or not? Either way, it’s not my country if I have no voice.

These 23rd Surprises have got to stop and efforts to take our voting to out-of-game venues must end. At best, those who are behind them think that eAmericans are too stupid to figure out who the PTO candidates are in a congressional election. At worst, they’re just figuring out ways to keep their hands in our cookie jar.
