Op-Ed: Encouraging Party Media
Secretary of Media NewAzazel
First note: Party President Elections are tomorrow. Be sure to listen to your party leadership and administration notifications before clicking that vote button. Your party may be safe while another is being infiltrated and PTOed.
Improvement starts at the party level
A key goal of this administration’s media department has been encouraging a media revival. As of late, article quality has declined, vote buying has changed the system, and we have more foreign spam entering our media. There has been one part that has seen somewhat of a revival, and that is party media. Lately I have been seeing more articles promoting a certain party, encouraging votes in primaries, or explaining the history of a given party.
This kind of media is excellent. It accomplishes several different goals at once. First, it educates and exposes your party to new players. The meta-game is great, but we still need in-game outreach and promotion to bring in these new players and involve them further in the game. Secondly, it shows your party has activity. An active media presence by your party shows you aren’t dead or dying, it shows livelihood. Lastly, promoting the media of your party members encourages community. Players are more likely to stay in a party if they feel welcomed and supported by it. While giving out food and weapons is always good, encouraging the media of your party members gives them support beyond that day’s daily orders.
So I am going to say this to political party members: support your writers. Even when their writing is not directly related to party business or promotion, be sure to give them support and constructive criticism. You are their primary community of peers, and as such, you are their system of support and structure. Encouraging them will make them more involved in your party affairs, more involved in your party community, and hopefully more involved at the national level as well.
MU Highlight: Flight Training
Deputy Secretary of Media DokJon
Want to start your military career in USAF? Flight Training is the place to be. You will learn to fly with those wings they provide! Officially formed on July 22, 2012, FT has been helping those new players with dreams to become big tanks in future.
After the former Commanding Officer and his crew moved up to take command of Air Force, the Israel Stevens administration decided that the training program (formerly Boot Camp) of the USAF needed an overhaul. The founding and the current CO of Flight Training Synesi obtained his job when asked by former President Israel Stevens. With his experience as a CO in the prior training unit for 2+ years, Synesi had developed a very particular set of skills that the administration believed could effectively be used to create the new training unit. He loves to help new players, so it was a natural fit.
The main challenge of most training programs is trying to develop a community and atmosphere while new players are only in their program for a relatively short amount of time. FT has been very fortunate in this area because many of their graduates move onto Air Force, but don't forget their roots in Flight Training. You know you're doing it right if they keep coming back to socialize!
"Flight Training is the best training program that this country has to offer. We have officers who will knock your socks off and a program that will quickly get you up to speed in both eRepublik and the military community as a whole. We are always looking for feedback from the troops so that we can continually improve our program. We exist to help the new players, and it is a responsibility that we view as an opportunity. We have a passion for helping new players and it is a key factor of our success. We'll feed you, we'll arm you, we'll make sure that you have a kick-ass experience while playing eRepublik." -Synesi, the CO of Flight Training
As you know, foreign affairs are crucial to the success of the eUnited States. We are a powerful nation on our own, but without allies like Brazil, Russia, Argentina, China, etc etc, we would be overrun. These relationships are more crucial to the United States than ever before. So how can you as a citizen of the eUS get involved? There are still several vacancies left in our ambassador program, and you could become that missing link between the eUS and our next ally.
As our Secretary of State, Israel Stevens, says: "Apply to be an ambassador! See the world! Meet hot chicks!"
