What women in eRep think of you - the results!

Day 1,586, 16:35 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Zeeuwsmeisje

So, finally the results you have all been so anxiously waiting for... Some remarks upfront:
As stated in my previous article, I received answers from 47 unique female and 74 male respondents. Far too little to take this in any way serious (but too much to ignore some remarkable differences...) Besides that, the answers you could choose from were in no way neutral, and my interpretations are as subjective as they come. Still, it was by all means interesting to uncover your deeper thoughts and insights on the female mind...

I started by counting answers given by females. Then the answers given by the males. In general, you guys did pretty much ok. But then I noticed something typical. As I asked some questions in general, just to get a better picture of the people who entered, I could compare answers given by single women to the answers given by the others. And, surprise:

Answers given by single females (35😵 were sometimes totally diverted from the answers given by all females. Totally changing the picture, as you can see below. Just for the recor😛 when referring to females below, it is overall result - so singles included.

Both genders seem to generally agree that vision and insight in game mechanics is not that sexy. You guys also guessed right that women overall don’t care much for VIP status. You didn’t think we fall for high military rank? Wrong! Surprise: the single women even find this equally attractive to personality. You are somewhat overrating making time for us, but I guess women in eRep are not the types to sit around all day waiting for you... So, if you want to make a good impression: just show your mussles and prove a man!

Though I could not imagine anyone picking the last answer, some of us actually did. This may be due to the fact that it is quite impossible to come up with a decent opening line (as proven by the pm’s I got) at all. Overall I’ld say men and women seem to agree pretty much here. At least you understand we like to be noticed. But typical enough: single women don’t care much for being seen as smart, they actually like to be noticed as females. Interesting, right? Especially, holding it against this outcome:

Weird, right? Single women seem a little troubled here: 6 of them even found ‘Hey, I heard you are female?’ to be both the best and the worst opening line at the same time... Nevertheless, better not take the risk, as 81% of them would rather hear any other line than this. Better play it safe and call us nice, which no woman seems to dislike and is by 25-30% preferred over the other openings.

Hah, this one was funny. No, guys, none of us likes to be called “the sexiest eRep chick online”. Don’t ever, ever, ever say that again! You think you shouldn’t send us free food and supplies out of respect? 50% of the singles’ love can simply be bought! Funny too to see how women in general change their focus once being not single any more: romance seems to be instantly set aside in favor of the pursuit of a military or political career.

So, the biggest turn-off doesn’t give a clear ‘winner’. We seem to be quite divided here, which could mean two things: we are not bothered by any of them in particular, or we couldn’t choose as all of them are equally annoying. If I were you, guys, I would just stay on the safe side and avoid any of the above if you want to score points...

Overall, men and women seem pretty much to agree on this one. We care a little more about the age-lie than you think, but a little less about you never leaving your computer (as we probably understand). Interesting to see how the single women responde😛 keep on ranting about your car, no problem there. Speak bad of old girlfriends, fine. Showing some GENUINE INTEREST in her always does the trick.

Didn’t expect this outcome really, you seem to be far more patient at least than the guys I’ve run into in my RL. Also, considering the fact that 44% of the single women would love to have your phone number anyway, maybe you could draw the conclusion that there is such a thing as being too respectful after all... Go for it!

Call this a big surprise...Where you (like me actually) thought the vast majority of us would condemn trolling without second thoughts, the results prove otherwise! Well, we have to take into consideration that the formulation of the answer may have something to do with it. In general, I think many women would like to see people lighten up in this game. And trolling comes in various shapes and levels of humor and intelligence. Interesting detail: the answers vary quite a bit from country to country. In eNL only one woman liked a good troll, but that may be due to the fact that we do not have a strong tradition in trolling, or we are stuck with some bad troll-wannabes...

As no woman chose to not answer this question, I draw the conclusion that we condemn in general any kind of personal attack. We think it’s less embarrassing than you guessed, and you seem to overrate the effect we believe it has on our community. But, if you do feel the urge to attack someone personally, you can count on us laughing at you or even more likely, simply ignoring you. It is certainly not the way to impress the singles...

I added my last question just out of curiosity. After examining the results, I am not surprised by the fact that the majority thinks we should all be seen as equals. I was a little surprised by the female that considered us to be inferior players. I was more surprised that 20% of you fear our manipulative skills. But in the end, maybe you know us better than you think. Beware of the dangerous 15% among us...

Thank you all for making this so much fun, and keep posted for the next contest I am currently working on (still have a lot of Q6 to give away!!). If you have anything you wish to learn about the female population of eRepublik, feel free to pm me!
