Vote Iain Keers in Yorkshire and Humberside

Day 643, 06:33 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Spite313
Just as a quick notice before I get onto my manifesto- The Economist is not dead. It will be back after the congressional elections and will be better than ever. I hope you will do me a favour and vote this message up.

It has been a long time since I've written it, and I'm sorry that real life constraints have perhaps made you regret subbing. However it will be back, and I hope you will boat harder than you have ever boated before!

Dear Friends,

It's been a while since I last wrote a manifesto for congress, and even now I haven't linked it to my candidate page. Why, people ask me, do you not do this? After all, it is the mark of an active and committed candidate to, at the minimum, have a presentation?

Well the answer is twofold. Firstly, as the founder of the principle of a single unified manifesto, I place all of my policy trust in the Unity Party national manifesto, which can be found here. I contribute strongly to our policy making process and thus I can relax knowing that that is essentially what I believe. Secondly, I always PM my constituents regularly, letting them know what work I have been doing on their behalf in parliament. Thus my duties are fulfilled without having to publish this manifesto, which can confuse my subscribers a little.

However of late I have been pursuing several private projects, such as the food initiative program to fix the price of Q2 bread at £1.50 (it is normally around £1.80). I have also been Minister of Trade, and founded the new think-tank Compass. In addition I've been writing articles for The Unity Post. So I've been quite busy!

So I decided that it is time to let people know I actually exist in-game! I have been quietly working behind the scenes for such a long time I worry that you're not used to seeing my face around the place any longer. So without further ado- my manifesto.

August/September Manifesto

Over the coming month, I promise to work constantly to look out for the little guy. Government is there to be tanking people and handing out Q5 weapons; I am there to be asking about the people who don't have food to eat or are stuck in Quality 5 companies on 25 health.

I promise to be active in all the meaningful debates, and to tell congress when they're going round in circles on some piece of legislature that will be buried five minutes after it passes.

I promise to vote to get rid of all the pointless failed positions such as 'Gifting Director' that nobody has heard of and that do absolutely nothing. For those of you reading this on under 40 health, there is supposed to be someone who you can contact to gift. But since maybe one or two (at most) non-forum members know about it...well you get the picture.

I promise to help you get onto the forums, to meet you when you get there, and to help you get through your first couple of weeks of eRepublik.

These are the things I can promise you as a congress member

However I also have some other promises I'd like to make.

I promise to give you the advice you need to start up a new company.

I promise to help you get your wellness up to 100, however low it is.

I promise to find you a job when nobody else cares enough.

I promise to spend my own money (what is left) to make sure that cheap weapons and food are available if you need them.

and finally....

As a government minister...

I promise to make sure that the President hears your concerns.

I promise to give you the tools to understand the marketplace and make wise decisions.

I promise that I will do my best to make sure the UK remains a meaningful member of the Global Community.

When you vote, vote for somebody who cares about you and not just furthering their career.
