V. [CoI] A Change at the Top

Day 1,800, 14:17 Published in USA Serbia by Dereck Ryan

Hi Everybody!

Let's get straight to business. As the title implies there is going to be a change at the top. As in, a new Commander will be taking over the Captains of Industry. Before I introduce him, I'd like to tell you a little story.

I was given the top job at CoI by Acacia Mason and have held the position for nearly a year. (That long already?!) When I took over the Captains things were in a state of flux, our supply system was pretty much gone and we were hanging out at the bottom of the Top 5 MU rankings. A lot has changed since then, we were able to get the supply chain up and running again and even added the DO Rewards program and the fight night competitions - two initiatives which I believe have helped us to climb to 2nd in the rankings and remain there.

There have been some hiccups along the way, such as cuts to funding and therefore supply drops, but we have worked through hard times in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Our drive for WRM self sufficiency is still underway, but we will get there in time so thanks for your continued support!

So what has led to my decision to relinquish the top job? Well, I have decided to step down from my role as Commander because of events in the real world. I am about to start a new job and it requires relocating to a new city. That part is great, but it won't permit me to serve you in a leadership capacity as I have been to date.

After some discussions with the other members of the leadership team, it has been decided that your new Commander will be Goran Thrax. Goran, along with Plugson, has been an indispensable part of the restructuring of CoI during my tenure, and we couldn't have done it without either of them. I believe Goran is the best man for the job, and will do his utmost to take the Captains of Industry to the next level.

For now I will continue to serve in my role as a CoI supply manager, and will remain a part of the CoI family. I'm not leaving the game, just stepping back from some of my commitments. I thank all of you for your support during my time as Commander and I look forward to seeing how the Captains grow in the months ahead.
