Tidbits from the White House

Day 3,769, 19:13 Published in USA USA by Gnilraps

Date: Day 3769 of the New World

While I’ve been enjoying dropping a paragraph or two in the WHPR, it’s no real substitute for just publishing my own paper as a means of communicating with you, the people of eUSA.

I will begin by saying that I don’t necessarily have a cohesive theme tonight. I just didn’t want too many days to pass without saying something, so I’ll just make a few comments on what I think are the more pressing issues in eUSA.

Training War with eUK Ending

I am not alone in saying that I miss our "conflict" with eUK. I wish they missed it as much as we do. But they don’t. For some reason they regard being occupied by Croatia as a more attractive position than swapping spit with us. Remember that, eUSA. The eBrits do not like us. Not one bit.

One of the reasons eUK was frustrated with us had to do with our very sloppy handling of the TW over the course of its last two months. The point of a TW is to maintain an equilibrium. You have to be just as able to win as lose. And with eUK being of such an inferior strength to us, maintaining that equilibrium required coordination and communication on our part. We did not do either. So if you are lamenting the loss of all that juicy TP cash, we partly have ourselves to blame. Time and time again I was getting plaintive messages from the eUK side begging us to stand down during the RW’s. And I wasn’t even in government. We screwed it up.

But that isn’t the entire explanation. True, eCroatia is doing a much better job of micromanaging the TW aspects of their eUK operation, but it isn’t like eUK is pro-Croatia either. No, the eUK Congress in particular just doesn’t want to have anything to do with the good ole eUS of A.

So I made the decision myself to pull out. It wasn’t the presence of eCroatia over there. Like I said, they’re exactly NOT allies of eUK. If they want to attack us, they can. Just dial up Maine and look at its neighboring regions…

We didn’t run away from eCroatia because we can’t run away from eCroatia and frankly I wouldn’t run away from eCroatia.

We left eUK because I made a promise that if we couldn’t work out some kind of agreement with the TW that was attractive to eUK, then we would end the TW.

Where Should We Fight?

And so we find ourselves now in a situation where we do not have a steady stream of convenient battles popping up day in and day out. Our agreement with Japan provides us a battle every other day. Our relationships with Russia, Latvia, and Japan further provide us with some fights - though please be aware that it’s not always as simple as just clicking for Latvia. Just like with our eUK TW, sometimes it’s necessary to lose. So please keep watch for instructions. Your Military Unit commanders and Officers are being steadily updated on where to fight.

Furthermore, we are providing a steady stream of cash (about 200K/week!) in Air Combat rounds. The amount of cash we are offering should replace the cash you would have been earning with your True Patriot fighting. So before you start fighting, check the wars for Combat Orders in Air rounds. You’ll find them a lot. Most importantly, check the eUS Shout Feed for announcements pertaining to "Warthog", the Government funded Military Unit which is doling out the Air Cash.

And watch for the Campaign of the Day on your home screen. It’s one of the little things a Country President can do to make it easy to find a convenient place to burn off some energy and so I’m committed to keeping that CoTD active. Use it.

And What About the eUS Forums?

Ahh. Yes. The Forum.

As you may know, the eUS Forum is owned and operated by a former eRepublik Citizen (and former President of eUSA) named PigInZen. He keeps it running out of kindness and loyalty to our community (and with a tiny bit of financial assistance he receives from those kind enough to donate a few dollars via Paypal or whatever). It’s quite a wonderful commitment he’s upheld, especially considering he’s gone and moved on from this game. I’ll also take a moment to publicly thank his Administrative Forum Staff who are the most fair-minded and responsive helpers you could ask for. Really. And several of them do still play this game, so they are ideal Admins.

But there have been a few broken things at the Forum for quite some time. I don’t know the technical details nor would I understand them if I did, but I know that what was broken is being fixed now. So once again very soon we will have a fully functional Forum.

There are a few corners of our little community who have blown a lot of hot air about how the Forum is a toxic environment and blah, blah, blah. Here’s what I want you to know. There are toxic individuals who play this game. Some of them also use the Forum. Some of them are also banned from using the Forum. Some of them are more toxic ingame than they are in the Forum. Some of them light up Discord with their toxicity. You will not escape toxic people on the Internet, particularly in a browser game environment. (Peruse the eRepublik Forum and you’ll find a far greater toxicity problem!).

So yes. You will run into a few jerkoffs when you play eRepublik on our Forum, in Discord, in the Media Module, on the Shout Feed… Yes. But if you are not one of those toxic people, I am asking you once again to consider joining us at the Forum (just as soon as it’s back online). The more of you we have playing there, the more we marginalize the a**holes. Consider this your invitation. If you are avoiding our Forum, you are robbing yourself of a ton of fun and you are robbing us of your contributions to our community.

One side note. eRepublik added a nice new feature today. So if there's a particularly toxic person you don't want to deal with any more, then:

What’s Coming?

You can expect the revitalized Media Department(s) to keep pumping out informative, controversial, interesting, and dynamic articles worth your time. You can expect to benefit from the variety of re-designed programs our Vice President and Interior has made available. In other words, keep your eyes open for stuff.

And your State and Defense departments are hard at work to navigate the stagnant International Training War knot that has the entire New World falling asleep with boredom. I promise that we are and will continue to make the best of the situation at this time and moving forward. So don’t fall asleep. Remain battle-ready.

And finally let me put in a pitch for you to consider running for Congress this month. You’ll notice that it is time to sign up ingame. (Go to your Party page and scroll down to the Congress section.) Run. Do it. Get involved. Take a risk.

Play eRepublik.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled clicking.
