The President of Bulgaria got impeached after 9 days in office. What now?

Day 1,668, 23:41 Published in China China by mihail.cazacu

Last month I wrote that Flausino's presidency will be an eye opener for the Bulgarian players. My claim was that under Flausino's "leadership" it would become clear that the war with Turkey is a futile ping-pong and nothing else.

It turned out I was right. So right that the next elections one presidential candidate, Avit0hol, openly stated that, should he win, he will end the useless war with Turkey. He came second to SturmmannIYI by a very narrow margin. In other words almost half of the Bulgarian players agreed with him.

The guy who won got impeached after just 9 days in office. He was as bad at coordinating the military operations as Flausino was, but he didn't compensate his poor leadership skills with heavy credit card use. So it was little wonder the Bulgarian Congress kicked him out of office.

Now Bulgaria has a new president, one who openly supports peace with Turkey and is backed by almost half of the active players. Would that mean something major will change in the eWorld?

I have my doubts.

Here is why:

The best move for Bulgaria and her 2 allies, Chile and South Korea would be to end their respective ping-pongs with Turkey, Argentina and Taiwan.

Each of them will get the optimum mix of resources and the possibility of fighting really interesting campaigns only if they side with EDEN and Terra.

The problem is none of them has reached that stage of wisdom yet. Not even the Bulgarians.

Bulgaria's best option is to make peace with the whole EDEN then negotiate North Caucasus and Volga with Russia (which had given them to Bulgaria for free in the past) and then Mazandaran and Semnan with Iran (who doesn't need them).

Unfortunately even the new Bulgarian president doesn't see things that way. In his newspaper he states the course of action will be to make peace with Turkey and then go and "punish" Ukraine and Iran.

That won't work for multiple reasons:

1) First of all, the Turks are indeed very willing to put an end to the silly war with Bulgaria. They never wanted it, they don't have any Real Life rivalry with Bulgaria and they want to have fun in Central and Northern Europe.

In the same time they explicitly stated that Bulgaria can have peace only if Bulgaria refrains from attacking her EDEN neighbors. And Ukraine is more than just an EDEN neighbor. Ukraine, Argentine and Turkey are part of a tighter mini-alliance inside EDEN.

So as long as Bulgaria keeps dreaming about "punishing" Ukraine it's quite unlikely there will be any exit from the ping-pong with Turkey;

2) Poland, which is much stronger than Bulgaria, was unable to hold to her Ukrainian colonies. A Bulgarian "punishing" campaign in Ukraine will be as successful as the Polish one. And a much bitter one, since Ukraine herself is less stronger than Bulgaria, which means failing in Ukraine will be much more painful than failing in Turkey;

3) Bulgaria needs to prove herself an useful partner to the members of her alliance, Chile and South Korea. That means she needs to help her allies both militarily and diplomatically.

As long as Bulgaria's military resources are tied up in a futile ping-pong against EDEN (be that in Turkey or Ukraine), Chile and South Korea will pay the price.

And Bulgaria's diplomatic influence on behalf of Chile and South Korea will be zero, since as long as she will continue to fight EDEN she won't be able to get any diplomatic concessions from EDEN.

So while it is a good thing that now Bulgaria has a president willing to put an end to the stupid ping-pong with Turkey, what Bulgaria really needs is a president who can bring her both stable colonies in Russia and Iran and a prominent position inside her own alliance, by negotiating an excellent deal for Chile and South Korea.

Avit0hol might be that president, but in order for him to do that he needs to scrap the plans against Ukraine. Will he be able to do it?

We certainly have an interesting end of June ahead.

BREAKING NEWS:

2 hours after this article was published, the Turkish and Bulgarian presidents signed the peace treaty.

Bulgaria chose the wise path of being at peace with all her EDEN neighbors, something which will open her the possibility to receive North Caucasus and Volga from Russia, thus gaining a common border with Iran. It is quite likely the Bulgarians and Iranians will show equal wisdom when negotiating over Mazandaran and Semnan.

It took 3 months but eventually wisdom prevailed! Wisdom always wins on long run.
