Join the new world

The Largo Endorsements were originally thought to be a way to evaluate new congress hopefuls, but since I got so many entries from experienced Senators as well as newcomers, I split the endorsement into 2 categories. The top 6 congress hopefuls with and without congressional experience (as judged by me based on a PM interview) will be named as Largo Endorsees.

But first let me explain why I asked the questions in the interview (in case you are wondering they all gave me permission to include their responses in this paper), and hopefully my thinking will help educate you on congress and perhaps help you become at least a competant Senator.

1. Are you currently endorsed by a top 5 party? Which one?
All top 5 parties had representatives in the field. I know it is obvious to many, but if you are running for congress, you are required to join a top 5 party.
2. Have you previously been in congress? How many terms?
This was just to categorize the field.
3. What experience makes you qualified to be a Senator?
Fun Fact:In the game they are called congressmen, but on the forums they are known as Senators. This question is p boiler plate. Voters want to see someone who is active in more than one field (party, military, ambassador, volunteer, etc.)
4. What would you hope to accomplish as a Senator?
Another boiler plate question. You need to have a basic understanding of game mechanics, so you don't look foolish promising things that you cannot possibly deliver
5. How do you know outgoing Senator John Largo?
This question is just for my vanity. Here are the reponses:

6. Have you read all the current Public posts in the Congress section of the eusforum.com
This is very important. Over half of all congressional business happens on the forum. It is important that you get up to speed as quick as possible so you make good decisions from day one. You will be granted access to the more secure boards after election, so there will be more information to catch up on.
7. Have you met any friends in this game who might help you get elected? If so, how did you meet them?
This question is to make you think of who your voters will be. Don't expect your party to send mobile voters your way if you have never been in congress, or cannot get some of your own voters. As a rule of thumb, you need to have 10 of your friends to vote for you, unless you are running in a fortress state, then all bets are off (it is customary to supply them with moving tickets). Then you might reasonably expect help from your party. A party should help those that demonstrate enough initiative to help themselves.
8. Which state are you running in? Please provide the link to your platform.
I will link the platforms below. A platform is required if you expect to be taken seriously.
9. Are you willing to spend 2-3 hours per day reading congressional stuff?
This is a minimum imo. In addition to the forum, you will need to be on irc daily. If you are elected, ask a senior Senator for the channel name. I choose not to publish it here, because it is secret 😛
10. If you could endorse one other person who would it be?
In the spirit of congress being the servants of the eAmerican populace, I gave the potential endorsees a chance to show their selflessness and endorse another candidate. These may well be your colleauges in a few days. I will list the names at the end of the article. (BTW some of you cannot read, "endorse one other person", so I picked the first name if you gave me a list)

So congratulations to the endorsees!! I am sorry that I could not endorse everyone, but if I did, my endorsement would not have meant anything (not that it means much anyway). But I want to tell eAmerica, these guys took the time to find my article and they followed up with the interview, so I would not be suprised if they all continued with their rigor and many of them made it into congress.
