The Death of Rikki Justice
Rigour6
Rikki Justice, one of eNB's top 10 citizens, will probably die later today or tonight from starvation. She was a Level 13, but hasn't done anything for about 3 months now.
We draw attention to Rikki not because we know her (we don't) and not because her case is unusual. We draw attention to her because she is, alas, just another statistic, an example of a citizen who entered the eworld, rose to a good level and then, for whatever reason, lost interest. Her reasons may be unique to her and inevitable. But she has a lot of company, as a review of eNB's top citizens will verify. Players who had the drive and initiative to start life here and worked hard to establish themselves, then drifted away.
Perhaps the eworld just wasn't for Rikki. Perhaps nothing any of us could have done would have extended her life.
But perhaps, just perhaps, if we had a better organized province, stronger health care, and more esprit de corps, we would have had another strong ecitizen join in our struggle to build a strong eNB.
RIP Rikki. Sadly, we never knew ye. But that doesn't mean you won't be missed.

I just don't understand if you want her to stay alive so badly just donate some Q2 food to her account every day or so. That way if she ever does come back at least she won't loose everything.
Andrew if I were to do that I would have no money for anything else. People like Rikki are legion. The problem isn't one person, it's the underlying conditions that cause her and people like her to quit. As I said, I know nothing about her case and hence have no reason to think she's ever coming back. My attention is focused on encouraging those who are here not join her.

You're right we should try and figure out why people are leaving the Republic, but getting back to my previous comment, what I ment was for the government to honner these Canadian citizens, as the great developers and thinkers they are, by donating food to them. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on that earlier.

It's a good discussion. I think at the point at which they haven't logged on for three months we'd just be throwing food away, although I note that someone has obviously donated food to Rikki after having read the above edition, because her wellness has moved from 0 to 3. I am tempted to run a 'Rikki Justice Feeding Tube' Program, just as a lark, to see how long we could keep her alive, lol, but it'd be a waste of resources.
What I AM dedicated to is trying to fire the spirit of eNBers so they get a vision of what our province could be and work together for that. So that the coming baby boom will not go the way of Rikki and others like her. All told 4 of the top 8 eNBers have health less than 10, so we can assume they're all terminal at this point. Combined that's 48 levels which is leaving the game, boy could we use them.
Now a certain amount of turnover (probably even a high amount) is inevitable in a game like this, it's not for everyone that's for sure. But citizen retention and development means a better eNB, a better eCanada, and a better eworld. That's my real goal.
Dead on...as always. Keep up the good work.
