The Comeback
Dozzer_x
Last time I wrote an article in this newspaper, I was running to become President of Canada. This was more than 6 years ago. I stopped playing this game as I was preparing for my final high school exams and I never actually came back.
So I told myself that the time has come for me to check out what's going on and see if anyone's still around. Turns out people are still around from those times, but the game has changed quite a bit, and to be frank I have no idea what's going on anymore.
Basically, I have two main questions:
(1) How do I get to play this game properly? (And how do aircraft battles work and who gets to elect the mayor more specifically? And how do cities actually work?)
(2) I assume that the IRC servers are no longer used to communicate between each other (in all frankness, in 2021 mIRC sounds like something from the last century) so how do you all get to write to each other?
Best,

Hello and welcome back.
1) How to play the game properly is depending largely on how you want to play the game. As for your specifics, aircraft battles happen every 4th round of a campaign (Round 4, Round 8, Round 12). They are worth 22 points. There is perception, but was never introduced, so you improve your air damage by ranking up. This means that if you only fight exclusively in air battles, you should be able to hit about the same as players who have flown in the air for months or years.
As for cities, the only thing with those is the residency. You pay 100cc to become a resident, and then pay some percentage to activate houses in that city. You have to be a resident to have active housing. Outside of that, the rest hasn't been implemented yet, but it will be in the coming weeks (Since May, 4 years ago basically)
2) IRC servers are no more indeed. For eCanada, you will find that mostly we talk in the national feed, party feeds and military unit feeds from your homepage. Additionally, in private messages that your party may create or if you get into congress. If you are looking for someplace else to hang around, we have a small group of people on telegram, and a different small group of people on discord, though both aren't really active.
Let me know if you have other questions
Thank you for your answers! Could you help me join the Telegram room (even if it's mostly inactive)?
sure thing. Send me a pm with your telegram handle and I'll get you added right away
Dozzer!
How have you been? What have you been up to?
I also came back after a while, I think you’ll find while a lot of people have moved on, there are still friendly faces around.
Hey klop!
I could tell you but it'd take me ages - I even actually lived IRL in Canada for a while. But in short, I've been studying for the past five years so I barely had any time for anything else.
With the pandemic and the crazy stuff going on IRL, I told myself that I should start playing this game again every now and then. But it's changed so much!
Oh really, hoped you liked RL Canada as much as eCan 😉
What did you study?
Welcome back! A lot of old players came back as well, and all around the same time period.
Game looks like it has changed a lot, but not really. As explained before, everything that's "new" is half-assed. Air battles, cities, etc were implemented nearly half a decade ago, and they're all abandoned. Q2-Q5 aircraft weapons were introduced just last year, but they're too expensive and cumbersome for people to manufacture.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
If you need funds, just ask. I'll be happy to help you get up on your feet.

Welcome back
Thanks!
You forgot to tell of the " absolutely fabulous " verification process 5 tines a day, but he will figure that out soon enough.
Never happened so far, what's that?
When you attempt to "fight" in a battle (which changed to "deploy") an account verification challenge pops up.
welcome back ,
"...and to be frank I have no idea what's going on anymore."
*pfft*
x2 bro
And I'm the current CP! lol
I think I just barely remember you. I was probably in Australia about then but already had close ties to Canada. Anyhow, welcome back! Anything I can do to help just say the word.
Welcome back. Sign up for Hot Air program. Government will pay you to fight on air rounds. Man551 or Simulare can hook you up.
Month 4 starts in 4.5 days, and his air rank is just low enough to take advantage of the daily rank ups.
Month 3 registration*
welcome back old school
Im so envious I played around the same time as maybe Trumpetguy84 or something of the like. I deactivated that email and some other things happened in life but was going through old Messages with friends and saw one where i referenced a large battle. decided to start from scratch probably not wise but hey giving it a go anyway.
