THAILAND vs SERBIA!!

Day 1,866, 13:28 Published in Thailand Thailand by Mystela

We might be related & help each other out ♥ but even though we're smaller, Thai still has the bigger clout! 😛

Players that are familiar with my gaming style, know that when I say something, I genuinely mean it. When I'm joking, I think that it's fairly obvious. Hopefully it's as obvious as when I'm being serious.

Seriously now, :3

Today I read an article, commented on by a player for whom I had a lot of respect. Prior to this comment, the player's judgement that I'm aware of, had disappointed me only once in more than 3 years of game play. Today, in response to another player, he said, “Wrong, Thailand is Serbia”. <.>
Rather than say anything, I chose to ignore it.

I then read Thailand's Congress notes, where this straightforward exchange occurred between one of the original Thai players & an experienced, but relative newcomer to Thailand, both of whom are of Serbian origin.

"...ZAMOLIO BI TE DA OBRATIS PAZNJU SLEDECI PUT NA RECNIK (a reference to the newcomer's nationalistic comment) AKO NISI ZNAO KOD NAS NEMA TIH GLUPOSTI NA NACIONALNOJ OSNOVI , JER NA THAI IMA IGRACA RAZNIH NACIONALNOSTI !
AKO NEKO IMA PROBLEM SA TIM MOZE DA SE VRATI U SRBIJU !"

"...We would like you to pay the attention to vocabulary next time (a reference to the newcomer's nationalistic comment) IF you did not know there are no real that nonsense on a national basis, BECAUSE OF THAI There are players of different nationalities!
If one has a problem with it can come (go) back to Serbia!"

I was immediately struck by the absolute contrast between these two statements, both of which are about the same subject, Thailand's relationship to Serbia & both written at almost the exact same time!

One made by an outsider, although a seasoned player,“Wrong, Thailand is Serbia”.

versus

One from a Thai founder, an internal message setting the record straight, not only for the newcomer, but for all of Congress, for the whole team, “...BECAUSE OF THAI There are players of different nationalities! If one has a problem with it can come (go) back to Serbia!”

I was already feeling guilty about my earlier silence, even if it's futile to debate these types of comments. I knew that I'd done a disservice to the team. Reading the Congress notes reinforced the fact that silence does nothing to dispel this “Serbia myth,” that we are one & the same, even though we are so different.

So although I've said it before, I'm confirming it once again. Just as with the other teams, including New Zealand, Thailand is not Serbia. I dare anyone to tell Crusadercarl, or any other long time New Zealander of real life Kiwi origin, or any other NZ team player, that their team is Serbia. O.o

All eRepublik teams have players of a predominant nationality at their core. Hopefully most teams follow Thailand & New Zealand's pattern of creating all inclusive, international teams, where the majority don't unilaterally dictate team policy.

In many ways, New Zealand & Thailand are amazing teams, where all players are welcomed to participate as much as they are willing to, providing that they have proved themselves to be trusted members, exactly the same requirements as on all of the other teams. Thailand plays to win, but winning isn't all there is.

tl;dr
In Thailand, it's all about the spirited energy of every player on this singular, magical team! not to be confused with Serbia.

THAI POWER!! :3
