Stepping down
Oraizan
After all the work on my cabinet and articles, I guess I should offer a brief explanation as to why I am not on the ballot for president anymore. If this article does not satisfy you, you may ask me personally and I will oblige when possible.
Yes, Oraizan is not running. The reasons are more-or-less the political climate (as Sophia pointed out in IRC). Recently rumors, accusations, blaming, many rude things have been flying around. We all know that I am Buddhist, and such things go against more then just my religion, but who I am.
I cannot run or support a country in this state, as it is not the Japan I fell in-love with 5 months ago when I joined eRepublik. I apologize to those that support me running, I promise to stay around for those supporters, and I will in-turn support you as well.
I have asked Kokawa to run in my place. Though Kokawa and I have different views, I will definitely stay around to help Japan with advice and work under his rule. In the past I have reminded the cabinet and government of many factors that need to be taken into consideration (IE. sometimes going against your belief for your country) and I will continue to do so.
The next voting term, vote Kokawa for President. You will find new change, a new era, and something special in this up-coming term.
Thank you for your understanding,
Oraizan

Too bad. You would have deserved it, because of your dedicated work for eJapan.
I do hope you will continue to play an active role in eJapan's future.
Sad to hear the circumstances. I feel shame in the name of them.( I dont know who dyou refer)
I'm pissed.
Not voted.
I'm pissed too, but i am not innocent either. I believe we are all guilty is some ways to bring this whole commotions into Japan and bring shame to this country. No one truly is innocent, no matter which side you were on, and for that oraizan, I am sorry. I don't plan on acting innocent, for I know i was entangled in the recent soup of mess one way or another.
Nations and politics are a dirty concept, to enter without that knowledge is ignorance. Any country, RL or in game has these problems, often enough the solutions are the causes of increased disruption of policy.
To withdraw due to belief is your own decision, however please note that the country is defined by its people and by its leader. I have much experience on the matter of internal disturbances being either expanded on, or dispelled due to quick action.
Ultimately I would have loved to see you push forward to the presidency, and eJapan needs a popular and active leader. However, as you have stated your 'Stepping down' speech quite clearly, any conceptions of you taking back that statement cannot be. Thus, eJapan needs to find someone suitable for the position, although I'm not a eJapanese I know that this person needs to be active and be willing to communicate with everyone in the government.
Good luck on deciding your next ePresident.
I agree with the first five posters in full.
Nolan said much of what I was going to say. The political climate is in a constant state of flux; differing opinions and beliefs are part of the reason why there are different political parties. People change; countries change.
What about the cabbage field? These cabbages that have been planted by the people of this country will require tending by a farmer, no matter the weather or season. Does it still not deserve love even if the entire field has gone bad?
Fortitude; in the face of adversity.
You were a strong candidate, with strong supporters. The eJapan community is fortunate to continue to have your support. And I hope, regardless of who is elected, your support remains steadfast.
sorry to hear this
I wonder what has happened...
Huh? That made no sense to me at all and in my opinion it would be better for the whole country if you still ran.
I know I contributed, but it still makes me sad. 😞
I am very sorry to see that you have withdrawn your candidacy! I believe an Oraizan administration would have united the people and got Japan moving in a very different and positive direction. I hope that you will continue to be a fixture in the government in some capacity, as your circumstances and preferences allow.
PS--Over here in Asia, some Buddhists can be quite argumentative and even downright combative... Westerners who become Buddhist tend to be really, really mellow types. 🙂
I believe that we can hold to our Buddhist values and still participate in government, but that is my opinion and it is the personal prerogative of every individual to determine their actions and so I fully support your decision Oraizan-sama, however one day I do hope that you re-enter the political arena in service of eJapan.
Gassho.
