First of all, I'd like to give a shout out to my homies in the 3rd. Whaddup Dirty Beavers!
Secondly, I'd like to thank myself for nominating... Myself as the MDP's official CP candidate for August. It was a tough decision, but ultimately the right one.
Now, let's get down to the meat and potatoes of this whole thing. Why vote for me over the other candidates? That is simple. Because I'm the best person for the job. I could go into endless detail on why I am the best or you could just take my word for it.
I've thrice been finance minister under the Jacobi regime, the fram regime and the aeriala Dade Pendwyn regime and the economy flourished under my watchful eye. I am of the opinion that wars are not only fought on the battle field but also using the economic warfare. Buying up goods, inflating prices, flooding markets.
Budgetary concerns. I have a lot. I am not at all happy with the tax increases to pay for inflated military budgets. This will not win me any points, but the CAF needs to be run more efficiently, and I will do everything in my power to do so. I propose that the CAF adopt the TCO way of doing business. Soldiers, in order to be fully supplied must work in the slave pits, must answer weekly roll calls and must post damage to a damage thread or spreadsheet.
Wars. Who doesn't love wars? We're on the verge of re-unifying our country again under Sperry's watch, but we shouldn't stop there. Not only do we have allies that need our help, but we also have enemies we need to pay back... then again, let's face it, we're a slave to our alliances.

Ideally, I'd drop VAT back down to 10%, but that's more an act of congress. I've vehemently opposed the raising of the income tax rate and after seeing the current budget, am going to request a drop in VAT, though probably not to 10%, but 15%.
We do have to be realistic however and we need to replenish the coffers. With that said, our country is nearly unified again and we no longer need to spend the way we've been spending. It's out of control.
James, I didn't mention the March of the Penguins victory movie, but there will be a time and a place for a penguin procession at my inauguration.

Cypher, First and foremost, I'm a erep economics guy. Secondly, heaven forbid I'd want to turn CAF into something that saves Canada money while becoming more efficient. There is no reason CAF shouldn't want to be more efficient.
Treian, love the /hijacked part. I wish we could have trending hashtags in erep. #hijacked would become #1 in eCanada.
as for the tax part, I didn't read your post but I'll take your word for it.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith- I was advocating last term to raise income tax to be even all accross the board and to put VAT up to 15% and not the 20% that got put through.
