Should probably mention a thing
Rob the Bruce
Like aaaaggges ago I told congress I was gonna stop doing the speaker gig, i.e quitting opening PMs.
I told them they could either let me choose a random fella I trust to do it and hassle them into it, or we could set up some system of elections like the good old days™.
They never actually gave me any answer one way or the other. One person (Amokkel I think?) basically said they didn't care either way, nobody else took any action at all. As such, I too am going to take no action whatsoever. And still not open any PMs.
Thanks.

if I comment it starts trending right?
True story. When I wor last CP there hadn't been any congress threads for the past month or two so I asked Addaway to start them back up and then hold a speaker election after the next congress elections.
Despite no other twat doing it there were the odd calls that this was undemocratic and the CP meddling in congress affairs...no doubt however if it wasn't for this meddling many in congress would have sat back and not cared for discussion.
Basically there are too many people just picking up their 5G and medal and not giving a damn atm. It's often a thankless task going about setting these things up but I think a necessity, dirty job but someone's gotta do it blablabla. You've excelled in a task that needed to be done and it's a shame congress haven't taken it seriously (I have to admit it's like they've been asleep past couple of months), I think most of the active players in the eUK however recognise your efforts, appreciate them and I won't be alone in hoping you stick around and wanting to say "Cheers dude!"

i replyed to you to say that the PM would be default if no one else was doing it
1) Impossible to tell if that was a vote or statement of fact
2) If it was a statement of fact, it's not a fact at all
3) If a vote, it was unclear and also not one of the options

" nobody else took any action at all" i was correcting your mistake
talking bollocks is basically the same thing mate
A democratic election after the congress elections would seem like the fairest way to decide on who gets the job. You seem like a competent player so i trust your choices but giving the position to "a random fella you trust" seems like a bit careless and undemocratic.
That's why I asked congress if they wanted me to just pick a random and save me some effort. If they all went "IT'S UNDEMOCRATIC!!!1!1" I wouldn't have done, but they sort of said nothing instead.
Hmm, that's a tough situation to be in. However i still do believe that a fair election would be the best thing to do. I'd even dare to speculate that attention for the matter would rise significantly if an election were held. If there is anything i can do to assist you in solving this problem i'd gladly do it.
Couldn't care less tbh... We have the national feed. Also, if the government wants to inform us about something secret, they can add us to group messages...

I would probably told them that they suck...
where did my comment go
It was me indeed saying something like that I do not care if congress votes for someone or, because I trust you, you pick someone who wants to do it.
Thanks for the good job you did in a nice and decent way Rob, thanks.
When I was in Congress and as Speaker, it was a shitfest of complaints. For a group of people not caring, there were a hell 'o lot of opinions on what wasn't acceptable! Oh yeah and not 1g 😃
I've already said when running for Congress that I'm not looking for Speaker, because some people just like to throw acid in peoples faces and roll about laughing, cos... why not?
Whoever does it, should be elected by the group and it should follow existing mandate for such an election. However once agreed, it doesn't require the able voting congress to actually vote by action, as proved by the dismal votes throughout the terms I oversaw. Additionally I don't have any issue with the CP or more appropriately under UK rl system, to 'heavily influence' who ends up taking the role in a situation where congress fails to act appropriately at the start of a term.
Much of this wouldn't be a problem if PP's would actively manage their congress lists, black flagging and hence holding poor behaviour to account; a deterrent to ghost congress or overly ambitious multis.
See I had the advantage of just randomly opening them when there was no actual meta. I barely got much criticism purely because the fact that I was doing it was seen as good enough, given I didn't actually have to at all. In that sense, having no meta at all for it works really well.
But that did also leave no actual procedure for what happens when I can't be bothered anymore, and I just started uni so being bothered just plain wasn't going to be a thing.
someone will step up, Malice for example. It's not like it's a tough time consuming job.
PP's can inform their members to add Malice before votes are counted.
Those that don't, won't be in em.
You proved that we don't need red tape and billshit. Open em, job done... 'Speaker' or 'PM Opener' as we shall now call it, has no duty other than to open the mail. We have 40 guys in Mongress each month. Surely one of them can do a round up article for the public every now and again. BP, WRP or TUP members could make em selves useful for a change...
Yeeaaahhh so long as people are actually aware I can't be bothered to "have to" log in on specific days anymore it's all good.
Summary articles are less relevant these days anyway, majority of active people tend to end up in congress communication somehow. A good proportion of those that don't tend not to even care. Articles are fun tho, good to have a thing to read.
Its fine. I'll open the messages. Its not that hard.
Yeah people are making a mountain out of a molehill.
You gave fags plenty of warning, plenty of time.
Enjoy your retirement Rob.
Too right mate, you tell 'em straight.
