Rumblings within CODE?

Day 4,434, 01:31 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Fellow citizens!

This is my first article as your new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

One thing that perplexed me and no doubt many of you during my term as Country President was why eIreland decided to attack us, despite being a member of the alliance(s) with which we had signed a treaty in November.

The Government resolved the situation as best we could, with the help of our treaty partners and ownership of the right regions was restored to the right countries, allowing our RW/TW program to resume.

eIrish unhappiness with CODE?

In a campaign article for the Country President elections, new eIrish CP Warbhoy stated :

“Situation in CODE isn't really great and we're still trying to organize our alliance, change it to the better and improve the communication and coordination in it. However, I have a feeling we might be the only ones trying to make it happen so it's definitely going to be a tough job. Everything, even the radical changes are possible. We demand to be respected regardless of our size and we haven't seen much of that during the recent months.”

Concessions from CODE?

We subsequently heard that Ireland nearly left CODE but were able to secure some concessions, including a Code HQ and a Charter.

Problems at the top?

Then on 7 January we saw an "RIP CODE" message in the feeds, posted by a very senior Code identity.

eUSA Embargoes eIreland!

Yesterday, we discovered that the eUS had imposed a Trade embargo on eIreland, this proposal being approved by the eUS Congress.

It was immediately claimed by the Americans that this was all a huge mistake. It was announced that the eUS will pay compensation to eIrish citizens whose production has been affected.

However, shiloh13, an Opposition member of the eUS COngress considered otherwise, arguing: "This was not a mistake, nobody is that stupid not even CG. He is looking for a way to get the US out of Code. He is a fence sitter has no balls and is being influenced by others."

The affair was not over yet. The Americans soon received a roast from legendary fighter Colin Lantrip, now resident in Albania (part of Asteria): "Having picked a fight and created drama with practically every ally while intentionally pulling the US away from CODE, you should probably just leave at this point."

Your Government's position

The Government of Sir Humphrey Appleby is doing its best to maintain our treaty with CODE and Asteria and continuing our TW/RW program. We view with concern any threat to the delicately held balance in our home regions.

We will continue to monitor the feeds and international media and will bring you any fresh news as it comes in.
