Resistance Wars and Dutch Democracy Hand in Hand
Shawtyl0w
Democratisch Nederland,
I'm just expressing some thoughts here
Shawty's Perspective!
In the past Democratic Netherlands has been a top party in our country bringing forth several presidents yet the activity in our party has diminished when ElGorro got tired of fighting with the other party ran by in that time ‘Van Spijck’.
We are looking for fresh blood showing that Democracy doesn't mean boring talks and due to a small country population, having the role of worker for the larger countries. Over the past few months parties with a war motive have presented themselves as the solution towards our oppressing yet currently "equal" ePoland. Djirtsdew is one of the few people in our party actively involved in our current political system. Who’s willing to team up with him, and also believes that Democracy should be the way for eNL!!
I'm here to say that democracy requires representatives/spokesman from multiple political parties to contribute to a common decision. This decision then should be translated into action involving other allies. I believe that eNL should be involved in organizing resistance wars with oppressed countries. We have lost our freedom for a long time. Some claim we are puppets of ePoland. Some claim we should be equals. I say we should act.
Currently we have a treaty with ePL and this gives us the right to own two regions. But why should we fight for our prios only? Why not contact country presidents and starting resistance wars liberating regions with high determination influence boosting damage and chances of a successful liberation. Of course we should target oppressed allies in order to keep our alliance and all its political agreements stable.
What is in it for eNL?
- Our players are able to support RW's and gain medals.
- We benefit from these actions creating allies and friends useful for future support.
- Some fun for people bored of sitting around fighting for countries like Chile, Poland and the UK all the time.
I've noticed that although a treaty is signed, our citizens do not know which regions will be for us to reclaim as this information isn't communicated through a newspaper. Knowing this a day before the final treaty is signed allows our people to capture the Resistance Hero medal instead of the Polish players.
Communication is key to an increased level of satisfaction playing this game. Democracy means involving everyone. Democracy is key to an increased level of satisfaction playing this game.
Yours Truly,
Shawtyl0w
ps. Thanks ElGorro for sponsoring my Newspaper!
Cheers!

Democracy means involvement of our entire population. It never should get boring. If it does, then something is wrong.
Actually I think something is wrong in the real-life Netherlands. People are not really interested in politics, and that must be because they feel it's boring. Yet these boring people get to decide what our country will be like in the future. This only increases the gap between politicians and the population. Some way should be found to bridge that.
In-game we have great ways to start discussions, e.g. through articles like these. So I fully applaud you for taking this step. I'd say, continue to write articles that set off discussions. 🙂
The problem with Poland consists of 3 main things:
- 1: Poland outnumbers us 6000 to 300, so about 20 times.
- 2: we have a region with oil and a region with wood, both of which Poland needs to have full production bonus.
- 3: Poland's allies also have communes in Poland, causing them to profit from these production bonuses, and also turning them against revolters.
In the past we've tried to renegotiate with Poland, but they disagreed with our terms, and decided to just keep us wiped from the map...
By now we've taken a course of assisting them, which has definitely paid off: we're quite sure we'll always have congress elections with at least 20 CMs. And they pay us back the taxes they get from our occupied regions.
Regarding your plan with determination bonuses: Poland typically resets the determination bonus regularly, so it never gets too high.
Regarding your plan with international anti-Poland cooperation: we've tried joining a small anti-Poland alliance, Asgard, but they didn't want us. Most other occupied countries also have treaties with Poland, making it hard to officially discuss breaking these treaties with them...
And in the end we don't get taken very seriously with our 300 citizens...
Oh my god. Real life NL mirrors ingame NL. We are boring here too!
well atm ePoland is our ally.. So I was pointing at nations with an alliance to ePL that are whiped..
not so much fighting against ePL 😉
Ah, helping our allies with RWs. That makes more sense, though probably our enemies use similar strategies.
They may also reset determination every now and then, have treaties etc.
In my opinion, if we want to be giant, we have to think like one, we cannot win a direct war with poland yet, but we can divide them, step by step, we can support resistance war through their territory, like in czech republic or germany (why not both? xD) and make them think that maintain Netherland under control is not so profitable, or we can invade an irrelevant country (like armenia) for catch some resources and have some fun, if we dont act quickly we are going to lose citizens...and ours chances of freedom (ohh yes freedom = murica intensifies). remember people, this is erepublik, not e-europa, so we can do things more further than europe..
(for me, invading an irrelevant country will be amazing and funny lol)
Those RW's at best be a slight irregularity to the Polish, and will cost us 10,000 each RW. We wouldn't be doing more than trow cottonballs at a elephant.. cottonballs that how ever are over 10 times our monthly tax income..
Also Armenie does about as much damage as we do so although they might be seen as irrelevant they won't be beat easily. We would need to Airstrike them which cost us a lot of money without being sure that it would work. But there are other countries we could invade but the list of countries we realistically are able to invade is short.
It is short, but there is a list \o/
We want a trip to eArmenia!
