Communism, it is both a form of economy and a way of life. It has shaped eRepublik history, and RL history. It has formed modern countries like Vietnam, and Russia. Now today, ill explain what it is, and its history in both Real Life, and in eNZ

1. History of Communism in Real Life
It was the 19th century, and the world was divided into two political systems. One side were your Empires and Kingdoms of Europe. They believed absolute power should go to a king/monarch, and they made all the decisions. On the other were your Democracies and Republics, mostly found in the USA and South America. Both sides shared a difference in economics, like some countries were capitalist, and others were socialists. Then in 1848, a third group was born. On February 21st, 1848, a book was published called Das Kommunistische Manifest or in English, The Communist Manifesto. The book explained about certain ideas that should be presented. Some ideas were that the government should have full control over the economics of a country. But probably the biggest idea was that in a Country, the power should belong to the laborers and workers. This was a big suprise to the world as no one even thought that the laborers should have any power at all do to social hierarchy. Then in 1867, another book by the same author appeared, this one called Das Kapital. It explained both the capitalist mode of production and the socialist mode of production. The author of both books you ask? Well it was this guy:



His name is Karl Marx, and his ideas would transform the world. But many governments thought his idea was childish and stupid. In the mind of imperials, laborers have no RIGHT to be in charge. His ideas were shot down, until they emerged in 1917. Two men would be credited for establishing the first communist government.

You did not want to be a peasant in 1917 Russia. Bread was at an all time low, and many protests and riots happened across Russia. If you protested, you would've been likely executed by Russian Forces. But two men would change this, some say for the better, other say for the worst. These two men are:
Leon Trotsky
and Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, who today is remembered as Lenin

These two, along with their group, the Bolsheviks, will take Russia by storm, execute the last Romanov tsar and his family, and be credited for creating the first communist-based government, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or in short terms, The Soviet Union. Of course this revolution for communistic governments will spread across the world.

October 1949- Mao Zedong overthrows the Nationalist Government of China and establishes the People's Republic of China under communist rule

May 1961- Fidel Castro overthrows the corrupt Cuban Government and establishes the Republic of Cuba with communist regime.

December 1975- Laos bordering Communist North Vietnam and China transforms to a communist government called the Laos People's Democratic Republic.

July 1976- 3 Years after the US leaves Vietnam, Communist North Vietnam captures Saigon in South Vietnam, uniting both halves into the Scoialist Republic of Vietnam.

2. History of Communism in eNZ
It all starts back in 2011. Many parties emerged with an attitude towards Communism. The Red Label Party, Kiwi Social Democrats, etc. Surprisingly many parties, including Red Squad, have succeeded many old Chilean Parties. Ill explain RS's political background more Monday, but Red Label Party is by far the most successful fielding 3 Country Presidents in 2 Years.
