[DISCUSSION] Dissolution of Congress

Jude thinks we should talk about the dissolution. What say you?

It's more stable to work with congress. From what I remember, things get a lot better or a lot worse really fast, with a dictatorship.

A dictatorship has a Shadow Congress. Here's my proposal, as I laid out in the Forums:

"Whereas the 127 Shadow Congress is a dividing factor in the unification if the community that is needed to combat the multiple enemy forces that occupy the regions of the eUSA; and,

Whereas the 127th Shadow Congress has proven to be even more retarded than the previous Shadow Congress; and,

Whereas the 127th Shadow Congress can not even agree upon the membership of said Congress; and,

Whereas the 127th Shadow Congress is purely meta, contributing nothing to the actual game play;

Be it resolved that the 127th Shadow Congress and any future Shadow Congress from this date forward will be dissolved immediately and entirely and all decision-making will be done purely by the in-game elected representative of the eUSA, that being the Country President, until which time the eUSA can properly elect a Congress within the game mechanics of eRepublik."

Basically, I say this:
No Congress in game = No Congress in meta.

Maybe then we can get people to fight for our regions.

I just want to say, the 24 hour rule is very clear. For those that don't know the 24 hour rule applies for SOH reelection, during the current election Derphoof extended it to 72 hours breaking the congressional rules. Breaking from that 24 hour rule is highly irregular, illegal and in this case was purely political. We need to do better than this, we have too! I can't believe derphoof has done this to our country. But from the ashes a phoenix or in this case an Owl will rise. He carries our hopes and dreams.

As many as possible. Within the bounds of game mechanics of course.

If i remember correctly any part of the process is at the speakers discretion allowed to be extended for any valid reason. Owls break rules too pretty blatant ones.

now is the time to discuss my idea of [discussion] giving each top five party a government org's newspaper, just think of all the nonsense and petty abuse that could be in play ... the competition to see which party could write the best response to the closing of the shadow congress and (the real purpose of this game), which party could troll all others over the closing of the shadow congress ...

vote for the candidate that embraces the game (of trolling) and who wants to promote more publishing via official party newspapers!
