Presidents are Stealing Gold(International)

Recently, a day before the last presidental elections, the then-president of Moldova, Underdog, stole 500 Gold from it's treasury, according to Pan Halippa, on the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/forum-topic-18542-0.html]politics board[/a]. He was immediately supported by two Romainian users, one which claims to have "witnessed" the event. However, The e😜
resident claims that neither did he steal the money(he admitted to taking 7 Gold, but then put it back), but nor has Moldova ever had 500 Gold.
But this wasn't the only story to come out of that topic. According to users from Austria, Argentina, and Russia; their e😜
residents also stole money from their treasury before leaving office. The Russians didn't have much to say and the Austrians only said that their e😜
resident had told them it was a bug(yeah right).
But the Argentinians story was brought to light. Joimzhando, the e😜
resident of Argentina and several citizens argued for pages(still going on), not about whether or not he took the money, he says in his first post that he bought it(but not how much he paid); they're arguing about whether or not he's a tyrant or if the second wave of citizens are corrupting the democratic process.
To make a long story short, Joimzhando was president of Argentina when a second wave of citizens arrived. These citizens grew to dislike Joimzhando and believe that he was a tyrant, so they voted him out of power. When Joimzhando saw what was happening, he bought all the Gold to save it from the newbies that are corrupting his country(he says that you can't withdraw money from the treasury, Idk if that's true). Basically, it's a big mess.
The admins posted this response to citizens cry for help on the second page: "We are sorry but we don't investigate punish corruption cases unless there is law against it voted by the congress and accepted by the President and the Admin, in that country."
Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want that to happen here. I really don't think Nave wants to steal from the treasury(unless he improved the economy so much just so he could steal it(lol no)), but we still should protect ourselves from this future corruption because we can. There's no harm in making a law that benefits the entire country. So let's get on this, it should be approved by everyone. Let's stop this before it starts.

I concur completely Emerick. I\'ve skimmed a few threads discussing the scandals involving ePresidents stealing from eTreasuries which I find incredibly immature. We must protect ourselves by passing laws against this. Let\'s not count on the natural good ethic of those that we vote in. Let them not be tempted by our complacency.

I checked the elections of Austria an hour before the deadline. Austria, a country that had smoething like 50 people a week earlier, had over 100 votes for someone who just joined. It was maybe the most blatant multiaccounting I have ever heard of. I would have sent a message to the ex-Austrian President, Voxx, to tell him to take the money out of the treasury but he wasn\'t online. Thank god he took it out earlier.
If there is ever THAT clear of hacking in the US, I will remove the funds out of US Treasury to protect the nation. I will make it public -- there is no erepublik rule against it, so it\'s not like I have to hide it from the admin. I will figure out a way to redistribute it, but I wouldn\'t let hackers take over the country.
I sent Voxx a long message offering him political asylum here for him and his fellow Austrians. If he decides come, he will be our first refugee -- a political one, but one nonetheless. We will be getting more once war comes out.
I don\'t think I need to tell you all that I expect everyone to be welcoming, courteous, and understanding of his situation. He was doing a great job as the Austrian president and was screwed by the whole ordeal.

Austria has been taken over by Slovenian folk. I don\'t think any multi-accounting was going on there just another forum invasion.
Trust me, there were over 100 votes. It was multiaccounting. They had nearly as many votes as America.
Excellent observations Nave good to know you\'re paying attention to this stuff. I would have to say if it is true that Austria was invaded by hackers/multi accounters that took over to steal the treasury then we\'ll have to consider solutions to prevent that as well.
This is also why we asked for a constitution months ago. If there are laws against it voted in by Congress and accepted by the President the admin can do something about it.
