Well, the election was... interesting. First of all, let me say thank you to everybody who voted for me. I hope that in the coming weeks, I can prove to you that your faith in me wasn’t misplaced. I’m writing today to address a few issues that have been raised over the last couple of days, and to give you a bit own news regarding future developments.

On the topic of war

The most common topic which is raised in my inbox, in the media, on my friends feed, pretty much everywhere I look, is the topic of war. People want to have a war to fight in - which is obvious, given the nature of this game. More than this, people want to fight for their own country, in order to earn themselves their True Patriot medals. This is something I can understand, and agree with, having myself done about 6 million damage for the UK against Norway in our recent attempt to kept Sorlandet. The problem is our position in the world (both geographically and in terms of military strength) means invading and curb-stomping our neighbours isn’t an option, so UK wars can be somewhat rare.

To this end, I’ve been talking closely with Irish President MUFC992 about a Training War between our two countries. We’ve worked out a plan of give-and-take with our border regions which will allow citizens of both our countries to earn TP medals AND Resistance Hero medals. The details will be published in full in the MoD Newspaper in the coming days, but the tl;dr is we’re taking it in turns to capture a region, from each other, then capture it back with a RW. Ireland will be going first, and as such will be launching their NE this evening.

The problem with this plan, however, is there are concerns about still being able to give our full support to our allies - particularly in this time where a new massive campaign has been launched by Poland. Rest assured, this TW will not detract from our dedication to our allies. We will still be setting orders for our allies when our support is needed. This will be a balancing act, but myself and my MoD Garth Lidlington will be working closely with MU commanders throughout the country in order to see it maintained.



A Strong Start for Ministries

In the past, when I’ve held a ministerial position, I’ve always favoured being left to my own devices and being given the freedom to implement what I felt was needed for the role. I’ve always appreciated being able to take the initiative, and have been giving my ministers that same freedom to run their departments as they see fit. Most of them have taken to this like a duck to water, and whilst one or two have needed a little guiding in the right direction, all of them have hit the ground running.

Your Domestics SuperTeam have been fighting each other to get their own news projects out first, with the Competitions team of Moriarty and Bohemond announcing their poetry competition, which you can read here.

To finish, a few small matters. Firstly: Sorlandet. We lost. So what? There was no strategic benefit to keeping it right now, and no economic benefit to keeping it at all. We may have cause to attack again some time in the future, but for now, there is little point. Let them have this one, we’ll show them what a real fight is when we have a reason to win 😉
