Platform for My Second Term
Badlands17
Hello everyone! I think most everyone would say that my first term has been a success, with more money in the Central Bank, and more people than ever before. I hope we would be able to keep this success going into a second term, with new ideas and promises, all under a rational and fiscally responsible government. We have maintained the incredible momentum started up by the DAP's very own Nagyzee. Now we need to achieve some even greater heights! As I did for my first campaign, I will give you a list of promises, straightforward and to the point:
No deficit ever, unless in an emergency.
You heard me. Unless there is an event which threatens the union, you will not see the amount of money in the Central Bank go down from now until I step down from office (as this will be my last term). If it does, I will personally compensate the state.
Compromise with the left-wing.
We have a surplus, and our war chest is already quite sizable to last us any reasonable period of time. Therefore, I think it's understandable that people want us to start getting real about expanding the government's role. As I am the representative for everyone, if elected, I will be open to suggestions to increase spending, as long as they do not threaten my aforementioned promise to refrain from going into a deficit. I will work closely with my economic advisor Nagyzee on this matter to ensure all proposals make sense and strengthen the union.
Mentoring program. Now.
This has been tossed around for months now. With the creation of Lopici Gaspar's app, it should be even easier for the Social Office to obtain the names of new citizens. When we have a better retention rate, our country is stronger. We have also had plenty of awesome mentors waiting in the wings. We've waited too long on this. This needs to happen.
Increase army participation.
Hearing about some of the platoon leaders talk about how they only have two or three active soldiers is really sad. A strong military is the way forward! Sign up today if you have not at:

Encourage diversity on the eMalaysian/eFRoSEAn political scene.
An us v. them political scene is vastly overrated. Third parties ideally show the main two where some of their faults lie, and help to offset partisan thinking. We have the ball rolling with a similar promise in my first term, let's keep it up!
I'm still listening if you're still speaking up.
As always, I read every message I receive. If I don't respond, 99% of the time I don't have anything to say. I encourage open communication if you really have an issue you want to talk about with me.
Remember to vote Badlands17 on October 5!

Voted this up. You have my vote.
Voted and supported.🙂
One little correction though:
"We have a very large surplus" is false. We'd have a large surplus if we didn't have the hospital project running. With that factored in we are probably making a bit of a loss if we don't count printing profits.
Take out "very large" then I guess. Okay done. 😛
I think you should change your promise to no deficit ever taking out the hospital costs and costs of emergency situations.🙂
It says right there emergencies are exempted from the promise already, and that should be compensated for by the congress gold.
It's my platform... growlll... 😜
It's my platform... growlll... 😜
lol Are you sure? 😉
Sorry, yes. I meant that you should probably include the hospital as well as it can be counted as irregular expense, I think.
And Jack I'd just like to save his wallet.😃
growlll...
Why no one promise an attaack on Singapore? hehehhe *JUSST KIDDING*
Voted and support.
President candidate,
I would like to hear how do you see our nation's security system. As far I know, we didn't have a 5Q defense system. I'm quite concern with the rising of eIndonesia's military minded citizen lately. So, what is your opinion?
What do you see the relationship between FRoSEA and eSignapore in future. Are we just merely a neighbour or will be merged together to be a big big family under FRoSEA umbrealla?
Looking forward for your reply.
Regards,
SeanLam
SeanLam,
I don't think defense systems are totally useless, but I must emphasize that raising the initial wall for a region (the purpose of DSes) does not make it any easier to secure it; if after 24 hours, the wall is still positive but below the initial number of defense points, the battle goes into overtime, where it remains until the number hits 0 or the initial wall. This can be one of the most complicated things about the game (I didn't get my mind around it until I was about two months into playing the game), and so I recommend taking a look at our wiki:
http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Battlefield" target="_blank">http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Batt[..]ield
Basically, defense systems buy time by making it more expensive and time consuming for the enemy to conquer, but that's where the benefits end. With the current state of world affairs, eIndonesia is one of the most powerful countries in the world; more likely than not, even with all our allies rounded up, we would still be no remotely close match for our southern and eastern neighbor. Successful diplomacy with eIndonesia will go much farther in protecting our territory. Basically I'm saying that it is expensive and unlikely to make a difference.
As far as eSingapore, numerous discussions have been held on this, and our governments haven't agreed to anything yet. Often despite the benefits of merging, countries are reluctant to have their different governments in eachother's hair, and I do not expect them to join eFRoSEA in the near future.
- Badlands17, Vote for me! 😃
Well, both of you and Vikta presentation sound good and very comprehensive one.
Continue the good work!
Your platform doesn't seem all that different from Vikta's other than a few key areas.
I agree with your platform overall just as I did with Vikta's, but I see the promise of no deficit as an empty promise, as there will, almost invariably, be some reason that you need to break it. It's a volatile world we live in after all. Which in turns makes your promise to compromise with the left wing equally empty, whether you really plan to or not.
While I don't necessarily agree with automatically awarding money (as in Vikta's plan), perhaps we could setup a loan system. x amount of Myr, for the promise of one gold once they reach lvl 6. This could be a compromise between the two factions, and i believe it would profit the government a bit would it not? I really am unsure about, tell if I'm wrong
Although Vikta's new ideas for mentoring are well thought out as are his ideas about the military, though i must admit that I don't know the function nor efficiency of that plan myself. I'm referring to the idea of running them through the spreadsheets here. And I hope to see this implemented in either's government if it is feasible.
Right now it is difficult to tell you who I would choose.
