As the lights go out, we can now foresee the capture of our beloved province by the Hun, following which they shall transfer us to the Quisling British. Spem Reduxit shall thenceforth publish infrequently as agitprop. Canadian Freedom Wood shall cease operations rather than provide support to our oppressors and invaders.

The pattern of these battles has been predictable and frustrating. We as nation do not stay close in battles, and then as the end comes, we either tank, forgetting that the opponents will also tank to match us so we cannot overcome a large deficit, or we realize we cannot tank sufficiently and just give up. This may be inevitable. However, it is clear that if we wish to win some of these battles, we must attempt to keep them close or even dare I say it, build a wall of defense ourselves before the final hour.

We say without bitterness that we expect once again little help, as Ontario will do what is best for Ontario and all else is tertiary. We will be with Ontario for a last stand. We hope our administration is ready for what we as a nation will face should Peace simply go around us and encircle us with Vichy UK possessions.

For our part, our advice is be part of the final stand in our nation's capital, should that occur, and failing that, to get thee to New Jersey, Florida, or Spain, where the flame of freedom still burns and where, we hope, the leadership shall continue to do all it can to resist tyranny.

Much effort has been expended by the few people of New Brunswick to build our province. That spirit shall never be overcome. We shall return to our homes some day. Let this, our darkest hour, also be the one in which we best showed our indomitable courage and commitment to the cause of justice and freedom.
