On Mr Conway. A repudiation on a myth.

That's right people. Teamwork. The thing that makes countries and MU's succeed in this appalling game. I will actually write a useful article over the weekend that's quite relevant to the future in terms of our little nation and its role in eRepublik, but in the meantime I need to address a truth or should I say an untruth in relation to a rather famous episode in the not so distant past.

Namely, we are going to talk about the theft of 1m IEP from the Irish State by a group of people nominally associated with 'The Kunts' Specifically we are going to talk about one individual: MrConway.

In principle the issue is quite simple. An allegation was made at the time of the robbery that Conway benefited to the tune of 200,000 IEP from the scam. This allegation was made by Dan Breen AKA Big Sexy Black Man. However, Dan was a well known scammer, troll and Photoshop expert par excellence, and so it is very difficult to take anything he says as being gospel.

In this article Nogin explains the background of the case and this led to a flame war between the government at the time - including me - with the select group of individuals allegedly involved.

This was one of the reasons why I left the country. Pretty much every week there was a rather nasty dialogue between Nogin, Moo, myself on one side and Marcus, OJ and IRR on the other. Seeing as Marcus in particular just hung around as if nothing had happened I found it kind of hard to be in the same kuntry as a bunch of traitorous thieves.

So what's the story with Conway? Well, Kurgan makes a central plank in his theory that Conway got 200k and there is no proof that he gave any money back. Conway says that he only got 100k that was given to a multi and that he gave all of this back.

The known knowns we have is that ~ 1m IEP was stolen and that 120k was given back. How can I be so sure? Well, if you looked at the articles written by the MoF at the time (after DE had resigned) you'd find this:

Larry Murphy was Conway's multi. He used it exclusively in the markets and it was through this multi that Conway received his share of the loot. Where is Larry Murphy now?



Dead as a Dodo. Now I can't prove that Larry was Conway's multi, but it ties in with Dan Breen's claim that the money was spread around various individuals - backed up by FRITZHILL returning 20k IEP.

So all that's left is the issue between the claim from Dan Breen that Conway got 200k and the clear fact that Conway gave back 100k. For this I side with Conway. Why? Because the first thing I would do with cash is to convert it back to gold (over time) and upgrade my training centres.

What we noted with Marcus was that his strength training increased enormously about 20-30 days after the robbery. As you all know, there are restrictions on how much IEP you can covert to gold per day. So do the maths good people.



Let me be clear about this. There are citizens of this country that can be trusted to look after its interests. They do this because they are either in a position of power like Sweet who left 3m IEP in the Irish orgs because he was the best MoF ever seen in eRepublik. Or because they bleed green for Ireland (beloved Eire!) like Bhane does on the battlefield.

There are servants to this country like Anthony Colby, James Keiller and John Gormley who do everything and ask for nothing.

Then there are slightly dodgy characters like me that you need on your side because the art of gaming and sleight of hand comes natural to us.

And then you have completely useless and downright RL dangerous individuals like Kurgan who contribute nothing of value other than wall of text on every article to promote their teenage fantasies.

Someone once said that Kurgan was a whistle-blower against corruption. Well, you can only be a whistle-blower when you are on the inside of an organisation. Kurgan has, in my lifetime in eRepublik, never had a role in any government other than a ministry of keeping his gob shut.

Trust me. Kurgan is a clueless buffoon. But to prove this, I want to give him this last opportunity to run for CP - with my support, after all I created a party for him - so we can see how good a job he can do based on his 24/7 criticism of previous administrations.
