On Foreign Affairs

Day 1,511, 09:27 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

This evening, we're interviewing former country president and current Minister of Foreign Affairs, temujin94, about everything from the war on home soil to his black book of contacts across the international soil. If you have comments or questions, he's always happy to respond to queries.

1. This month, it’s a marked change from being President to being the Minister of Foreign Affairs. How do you feel that this experience will assist you in the role?

Well being CP brings it’s own unique experience, not just in Foreign Affairs but in all ministries. It gives you a insight into all of them and I’m under the impression that most ex-CP’s could be a minister anywhere on the cabinet. I’ve been MoFA before so hopefully I’ll get everything running on the right track.

2. You’ll be known across a host of different nations. Do you feel that this “black book of contacts” will help you in gaining greater support and priority for British battles?

I suppose it could help but really with ONE fighting on so many fronts and with so many nations either wiped or close to it, it’s hard to convince foreign troops to fight for you when they are one battle away from not having a country, maybe as the month progresses that may change but for now we need to rely more on what we can do here than what we can expect from ONE

3. The current war with France, Ireland and Canada is a major issue for all of us. Will you be taking a particular approach in acquiring support from ONE nations for battles?

We’ll be focusing mainly on nations at war or bordering these nations. If they are fighting us instead of Spain/Poland/Whoever than it’s a lot better for them so hopefully they’ll be able to provide more troop support for these kind of battles than to others.

4. The Country President has stated that “leaving ONE is not an option”. Would you agree with that statement? If so, why?

Yes, 100%. We have theoretically 3 options, Neutrality, Joining Teden or staying in ONE. Neutrality as anyone alive during the break up of PHX was incredibly boring and one our worst periods since I’ve started the game. Joining Teden, this has been done before, we have very few friends in the alliance and since we quit to join ONE we may not even be granted membership. This leaves us with ONE who dominated Teden at it’s formation and only until recently has Teden gained the upper foot, we have to weather the storm as best we can and extract or vengeance when the time comes for ONE domination once again. Of course some say we should be Pro-ONE because that way we are not a target for Teden. This may have been true when France and Germany and a host of other nations were wiped, but now that they are on the front foot, they want to expand and they don’t care if you are ONE or Pro-ONE so this way we keep the same wars but we have a say in alliance politics.

5. Quite a few people might be aware of the Strasbourg Treaty which was, in essence, a non-aggression agreement. How do you feel that the soil of foreign affairs has changed to allow this collapse of the treaty?

I was always Pro-ONE but I never fought against them while we were in ONE. They’ve been looking to break up the treaty for quite a while and tried to pass on the blame to us when we signed a MPP with Belgium, but in reality they signed one with Ireland and really France left more friends than us behind once PHX disbanded so I don’t think they can really place all the blame on us along with Germany

6. Ireland proposed a deal which was to offer them a region of oil in return for a region of fruit but was heavily biased in their favour. What would you say to the public about this deal and why it was rejected?

This is Ireland being simple yet again. No nation currently occupying us could strike a deal and actually hold the region for longer than 2 weeks, it just would not happen, which would mean constant NE’s and a worthless and time consuming deal. The best thing is either to sign for original regions or just weather the storm until we gain a equal foothold again

7. Both TERRA and EDEN are now having major successes across the globe having pushed Poland out of the US and pushing into Western Europe. How will you, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, liaise with other ONE nations to turn the tide?

Well I’ve now been involved with ONE quite closely for 5 months now throughout my presidency and also 2 MoFA terms, alliances always have good periods and bad periods. Turkey leaving has hurt ONE quite badly but ONE will recover and there is quite a few things going on behind the scenes which could bring ONE back into the dominant position they once where.

8. Let’s imagine a hypothetical situation in which France and Canada both propose a peace treaty that requires the sacrifice of regions? How likely is it that we would be accepting this deal, given the to- and fro-ing between nations?

Very unlikely. As I’ve already mentioned those countries don’t actually have the manpower to hold our regions for longer than 2 weeks even with our consent. This means we’d need to be NE’d constantly to give them back and it would end a lot of possible wars for us for quite a while so it’s better to just fight on in the current situation.
