New Players - A Question from the government
Aus Ministry of Finance
Hello to everyone reading this. The government is back putting effort into the new player this term, and we've been working on it. We've restarted Centrelink for supplies, and we're writing a whole new library of help information to help you get started. This is all fine and dandy, but one thing that we don't know is how YOU feel, and what YOU want.
We can do all the new initiatives we want, and it won't to much to help you if it isn't what you actually want. So, we've decided to ask you for your opinion - what do you think is the most helpful thing we could be doing? It doesn't matter if someone has already suggested it, if we're already doing it or if no one has thought of it before, just write it in the comments. New players are needed sorely in eAustralia, so any ideas you have on how we can make it easier for you to settle in would be very much appreciated. If anyone else who isn't a new player wants to write down a suggestion - feel free to. I will read every single comment on the page, and I'll take any idea into consideration.
Thanks for your time!

1. have some kind of "start up" where you send some money (don't have to be much) or weapons just so they don't feel like nobody is helping them its more of the idea then the actual practice
2.give new players some kind of "mentor" somebody they can ask questions to without feeling like a fool i know everybody says they like helping but if the new player feels like it is their job im sure they will be more willing ask and this would help out with building some kind o relationship which is what this game is about
3. maybe have some newspaper that gives tips and answers common questions that people have?
I'm very confident that we will provide assistance, it is very important to keep eaustralians united and strong. I am grateful for the help
I ask everyone to subscribe

i did this a little but 1 guy only gets so far..
right i agree...it cant be left to a player by player system it needs to be regulated by the government which can (hopefully) do more then any one person
That is why we now have Centrelink - it just started, but you have already received one "shipment" of supplies. More will be on the way.

We've recently restarted centrelink as a government aid program, so you can recieve supplies from them, and solve this problem. It allows you to get going quicker, so I would use it. By the sounds of it, you already are! Good work.

A specific mentor system could work, but it would take a lot of people willing to be a mentor. The current system we have now is Vyrin contacts new players, and Vyrin acts as a mentor to the ones who reply. If he gets too many, he can send some on to any other member of the department, but that hasn't happened yet.

This newspaper will be publishing guides shortly - I have spent a lot of time this term writing them up and getting a website organised with all the information you should need. Hopefully it won't be long till it is up - in the meantime, we will actually start doing what you're suggesting and just post them on here as articles.
Thanks for your comments guy!
right well im glad to see that stuff is being done and yes i have received help im not disagreeing with that fact....as for the mentor idea i want to point out the obvious that it is possible to have a mentor help multiple people like Vyrin is doing i was not suggesting that each person gets their own because quite frankly im sure it doesn't take that long to answer questions and lead them on their way haha but perhaps in the welcoming message it could say something about contacting Vyrin along with perhaps a few others if they need anything and then have Vyrin message them as well?
just some other information you may ant to add to your articles if you haven't already is the whole resource system and what having them does to help the country aswell as MPP stacks i think that these are things that just seem to be known to the general public but isnt told much to new people unless they ask i know i didn't understand it at first anyway
Sorry about replying from this account - I'm in a rush right now, and I don't have the time to log in as the Department of Education account. I'm Arcaian, the current head of the Department of Education.
We would put a point in the message at the start about contacting Vyrin, myself or anyone who wanted their name there, but the Prime Minister needs to change it, and it takes a fairly large amount of effort to make a change, but the Department of Education doesn't stay the same every month, so every month the message would need to be changed to reflect the new people you have to contact. It's easier to let a member of the Department of Education mail the new members, that way you don't need to go through the lengthy process of changing the message.
The concepts you want articles written about are considered more advanced concepts, so you don't often see them explained in the in-game new players section. There are tutorials on them out there, but they are a little hard to find - thats the reason we've started making this. We've covered one of those concepts, the other (MPP stacks) I haven't written up yet, but it will come. The website will be ready before the end of January, thats for sure.
You can always contact the CP with the original message you get, while they may be very busy I'm sure they would respond and if they are busy could either suggest who you could talk to or even offer to take your name and pass your information on to those in their cabinet that will be able to aid you the most so they can contact you.
I have done that myself this term with a few players.
While the National Library is not finished it is still up and running to a major degree, feel free to take a look and subscribe so you are notified when new information when it comes out.

Thank you all for adding your contributions, it helps myself and my Government a lot in gathering specific answers to questions many of the older players wouldn't know, the game has changed a lot since we first started out playing.
not much more i'd ask for beyond food and weapons, maybe a gold loan for training upgrades.
Gold loans are possible when the country is back on track, and Plato fixes the economy. As it is, our tax income is getting so small we can hardly afford to MPP anyone. They've said they might fix it, because every country's economy is collapsing (well, deflating in theory). I've done that maths, and training upgrades are definitely the best. It might be possible to lend out 10 gold when it comes to the half-price days, as long as it's payed back fairly quickly... but we'd have to wait a bit for our states to stabilise.
i know i've seen a bunch of abbreviations and didn't have any idea what they meant. giving a link to here(http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/ERepublik_Jargon) would help, as it helped me quite a bit.
otherwise i think what you've done so far is pretty good. the adf forums explains quite a bit and you can join for supplies, so thats good.
