New generation stands up in cyclo-cross?

Yet again, a victory from relevation of the season Pauwels. He won in the sprint against Zdenek Stybar.

The heavy track in Ronse wasn't as heavy as last year, where there was mud all over the hills. The group stayed relatively complete, until Bart Aernouts attacked. As the only rider, he cycled all the way up a very steep hill, where the opponents had to run.

When he was caught, Pauwels accelerated, leaving Nys and Albert behind. With some help of Stybar, they went on as a duo. Albert managed to get back in the chasing group (Vantornout, Aernouts and Meeusen) and tried to close the gap. He couldn't bring it up completely, but came out in third place in the end.

Nys even couldn't follow the pace in the chasing group and finished seventh, Wellens gave up. Could this be the end of the "old" riders? Off course, there hasn't been a very technical race yet, so maybe it's too soon to say.

Pauwels loosened Stybar in the last few hundred meters, and easily won the sprint.
