My platform for Party President of the BMP

Day 778, 19:10 Published in USA USA by Alexander C Kraynor

At this time, I would like to announce my candidacy for President of the Bull Moose Party and thank Stormin for his endorsement of my candidacy. Another less known, yet up-and-coming, member of the BMP has also expressed his wishes for my presidency – Rambull. Acting as the BMP’s mascot, Rambull wishes to extend his endorsement to myself.

Rambull, mascot of the Bull Moose Party.

Many of you fellow BMP members may be unaware of my activities as a party officer and my work as the Secretary of Communications – so let’s clear all of that up. As the Sec. of Comm., I have written every Rough Rider Bulletin article that has thus far been published. All of which have had a serious impact in increasing party membership. The first article ever posted, We're Comin' Out! Guns Ablazin' !!!, managed to “boost our membership from 28 to an impressive 41 – a 32% increase in ONE day”. Every subsequent article written and published by myself have had similar effects on membership. I also wrote the first Constitution of the Bull Moose Progressive Party.

As you should well know, Forest McElroy was one of the two founding members of the BMP, but what you may not have known was that I was brought into the BMP partially because I know him in RL. Being a friend of Forest, it is not my goal to slander him or hurt his reputation in any way shape or form, but his recent RL conflict has had serious implications for the functioning of the party. Since he has been unable to devote as much time to eRepublik as he would have rather wished that he could, his duties have largely fallen on Stormin and myself to be carried out. The internal mechanisms of the party have begun rusting and someone must be placed in a position of power in order to galvanize and oil the very cogs that make the BMP so great.

If you vote me into office, I assure you that I will not stand for such a crumbling of the party to which I have devoted so much of my time to make great. But enough has been said to my credentials and to that effect.

Goals
As president I will:

1. Emphasize accountability – One of the major issues that we have had is not only a lack of responsibility in the cabinetry, but an unwillingness or inability to more strongly administrate. Granted some of these issues are occurring because our party is fairly new, but measures have not been put into place to make ours a more effective beaurocracy. Our party cannot remain “new” forever, and a much more effective administrator must be empowered.

2. See through the ratification of a new Constitution – Being the author of the first const., I am not new to this activity. The major flaws with the current version is that it does not define the secretarial duties clearly enough and it does not clearly describe the electoral/appointment process.

3. Write a document - that will more clearly explain the methods by which the party should be managed. (i.e. how our recruitment staff should function, &c.)

4. Increase membership - to a total of at least 80 ACTIVE members, this means members who vote in every election, who take their game-play seriously, and who participate on the forum/IRC.

5. Get Stormin reelected - along with a second candidate from our party.

6. Make us more known - amongst the larger parties and make our ties to them stronger.

7. Create a “Commission on Party Commerce” - which will oversee the investment of party funds into companies that will be co-owned between a party member and the party itself. This will allow us to utilize excess funds in a way that is beneficial to the party as the contracts will stipulate that a percentage of company profits will be donated back to the party’s bank. By doing this, we will be able to create a steady and stable revenue stream to fund party efforts in conjunction with donations from members.

8. Fulfill my duty to write bulletins - that inform the party of the current state of affairs. Something that is required by the Const., but which was obviously overlooked by my predecessor.

9. Likely do much more than is enumerated here.

Cabinet Positions
If you wish to acquire or maintain a cabinet position please send me a private message that will function as a sort of résumé. I ask that you name the position that you wish to be appointed to, provide me with a list of a relevant accomplishments in eRepublik, and that you write a short statement (5 sentences or so should do) that explains why you wish to have a cabinet position and why you believe you will be an effective party officer. I must receive this private message within the next 4 days in order to assure that I have ample time to make my final decisions.

For the Republik,
-Alexander C Kraynor
Secretary of Communications, BMP
