My last will and testament (2)

Day 2,354, 15:08 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Broersje

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

As announced in my previous article, I've been looking for a useful way to spend my considerable fortune. After contacting the CP, I decided it would be best to pay off the infamous mercenary debt, which had become quite an embarrassment for our country.

I don't want to go into the specifics of how that debt came to be, but it is clear to me, and to many other people, that the problem should not have existed in the first place and that it should have been solved in a better way. I mean, what kind of nation, what kind of people would wait so long before fixing a problem with a very simple solution? Of course, that's the old me talking.

I once believed that a sense of honor, justice, and responsibility would solve all problems. I still think it could. But looking back on my history in the eNetherlands, I can say that that kind of sound judgement, which I personally have always strived for, has been sadly lacking at times.

Does that mean that the situation is hopeless? No, of course not. But I implore all of you, my friends, my companions, my former opponents, and all other citizens whose acquaintance I sadly haven't been able to make, to constantly look at your own actions with the same critical stance that you use on others' actions. Only by doing that, you can improve yourself and thus improve your country.

A great and, honestly, very annoying, man, who totally deserved to die for what he said and did, once believed that if you know what's the good thing to do, you will do that good thing. I don't believe that's true, but we can at least try to make it so.

With that thought, I leave you. Go and have a great life without me, and above all, be constructive if possible, and critical if necessary!

Kind regards and wishing you the best,
