My Disappointment

Day 1,873, 15:47 Published in South Africa South Africa by Al Kazar

I am truly sickened by what I have seen happening in this election - from both sides.

I decided to give Ejdatful a chance and to try take another step towards integrating the so-called "Turks" further into our community, but some people just couldn't leave well enough alone so as to further their own petty little squabbles and agendas.

They knew pushing players like Ejdatful and Leon would cause a reaction, and so it did.

Unfortunately, this has now degraded into a disgusting interaction with petty sniping from both sides.

This is not why I decided to do my bit as CP of eSA or why I decided to run for re-election. I will not be associated with this kind of behaviour from anybody.

I apologise to anyone and any party that may have been attacked or insulted in any way.

I would like to make it known that I no longer have a running mate in this election, and I respectfully ask that no more votes be cast for me.

Ejdatful Day 1,873, 15:50

I'm sorry Al. Thanks for your support.

Come on Al, you can't back out now.
You're five votes behind, it's not like the voters said they hated you.

If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen

Al Kazar
Al Kazar Day 1,873, 16:13

Fhae, you should know I can definitely handle the heat - I've handled heat from you many times and probably will again : - )

My name has been tarnished by the actions of others so it is best if the remaining votes go elsewhere.

Rexdeus Day 1,873, 16:40

simple defense mechanism, push me & i push back harder. i do not believe in turning my other cheek. Right choice.

Enriche2Ribeiro Day 1,873, 19:42

I would have carried on the race. If you choose a very controversial running mate you and the running mate should have realised that you were going to pick up some flack. Name calling and bashing each other is childish but it does seem to be the norm in politics we see it daily in real life even in the USA it was very transparent. All it seems from you and ejdatful that you started losing so you chickened out, and i know that is not who you are but people will see this and believe that really sorry about that.

Wacky368 Day 1,873, 22:06

I did not see Ejdatful getting pushed about anything before what he said on forum, therefore my reaction too. Sorry to hear you don't want any further votes. The same way he was offended by being called a pto'er a while ago is exactly the same reaction that has been provoked by calling the whole of DB that.

AdUnit Day 1,873, 22:41

Classy statement Al, sorry it ended up being this way

Miyagiyoda Day 1,874, 23:42

pfft. If you cannot deal with the handful of haters you have no business trying to run the country. Its caving to a subversion of democracy -- every vote counts -- not just the vocal ones.
Step back outside of yourself and remember that its all actually about South Africa. It is about what you can do for it under your leadership and not your ego. Think hard on what you have just done and what it says about you.
Every President has to go in prepared to do the job solo. There is no guarantee of the effort your cabinet will put in, but you can guarantee what you will be prepared to bring. Thank you for at least admitting that you cannot bring it.

Al Kazar
Al Kazar Day 1,874, 00:17

Miyagi, I can more than bring it, but why should I bother when others put themselves and their ego's before the good of the country. I do not want to be associated with this kind of behaviour. I have never and will never take part in dirty politics.

Nickerball Day 1,874, 01:58

Al, you should have chosen better. Ejdatful is known to be very fast with his insults. You would have done better if you have chosen Leon, who might not see eye to eye with the rest of us, but at least he is not so quick on insulting. He would have been the better choice, but alas, you have dug the hole you fell into.

Badger06 Day 1,874, 02:26

I have no clue what went on here but I had no part in it for a change. Insults come easy to Edjatful whether provoked or not. Stand for what you believe is right and take the flack as it comes, that is what I did whether it was controversial or even right in most people eyes did not matter, I stood firm and did what I believed is right.

If Al beleives his actions were right then I respect his choice and understand where he is coming from, he doesnt have to explain any of this to you guys but at least he took the time to do so anyway.

Well played Al, you are a proud South African in my eyes !

Wilpanzer Day 1,874, 03:23

Al did what he had to do.

Death before dishonor!

Nickerball Day 1,874, 04:26

I have said what I said, but I still respected what Al did. If he had won with Ejdadful as his VP, he would have been one very disrespected CP.
I have to admit, he got out of that hole with honor.

Steven Bosch
Steven Bosch Day 1,874, 04:35

A VP is just a VP - we can't go around like this.
Honestly, we should vote for what we believe people can do and not for their running mates.

Oh well.

Nickerball Day 1,874, 05:07

O nê?? Gelukkig het ek nie enige tornados veroorsaak tydens jou verkiesing nie Steven. Ek was stil en stigtelik op my plek gewees hehehe, maar ek dink tog die mense het vir my gestem nie vir jou nie (º¿º)

Charlotte Quintao
Charlotte Quintao Day 1,874, 07:58

I feel Al did the right thing by pulling out of the election since it caused such controversy and he is always a man of honour and integrity. I don't blame him at all for not stooping to the level of mud slinging that happened. I also feel people in eSA should stop being so silly about 'the turks' from what I have read all they want is a normal life in eSA. We are supposed to be the 'rainbow nation' after all in RL and hopefully here too. Hate me if you want but that my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Nickerball Day 1,874, 12:43

All is good and well, but why is it only the people of eSA that are being told how wrong they are, what about the other party, or is it ok that we just have to turn the other cheek every time we are being insulted? Unfortunately this sword cuts both ways, so maybe you should have a talk to the other side as well, but make sure you do it in public like you do it to the people of eSA. Let everyone see how you do it.

Rexdeus Day 1,874, 14:26

Al IS an honorable player no doubt, what was done was done with the best of intentions, while trying to keep all parties happy, which is not possible in any political issue.

Part of politics is also diplomacy, and here i failed Al, i definitely could have acted with more diplomacy, that is MY shortcoming and something i will endeavor to improve to become a better servant to eSA, as we all, both sides, are here for eSA ultimately and want the best for our country. Passion sometimes overtakes logical thinking, both sides.

Badger06 Day 1,875, 01:06

thinks i should rap Rex, like he did to me when I got out of hand
