With Washington once again secured, we bring to you a special report on how the Corps is celebrating their latest victory.

The Training Corps is having a “field day” of sorts. It’s a cool, breezy day, and the TC is out playing a variety of games and sports. There’s a fold-out table surrounded by people, where a game of Texas Hold-em is going on; further out on the field, we have a game of Ultimate Frisbee just starting. Let’s go see what everyone is up to.

The poker game is going on in force. There are eight seats around the square table, two on each side. Each seat is occupied. In addition to that, there are several people standing right behind the table, watching the game, walking around and comparing hands. Lieutenant Tim Cannon is sitting down on one side of the table, and next to him is Lieutenant Admiral Quasar. I stroll over to their side. Tim is dealing this hand, and flips over the first three cards, the flop. The three cards down are the ace of hearts, the four of clubs, and the seven of hearts.



I flick my eyes over to Tim’s hand, and he’s holding the three and jack of hearts. Possible flush, I think silently. I look at the side directly across from us and spot Lieutenant Colonel Morrigan Alexandros, sitting next to Lieutenant killerballerina. I walk over to their side as the turn is revealed, the king of diamonds. Morrigan is holding a king of spades and two of clubs, and killerballerina has pocket threes. The river is shown, the queen of hearts. All hands are flipped over, and Tim wins the pot with his flush. As the poker game finishes, Morrigan, killerballerina, and myself all run over to the field to get into the ultimate frisbee game.



Captain Evan Wilson, pictured above, along with Lieutenant Colonel Rekeri, are organizing the frisbee game. Fittingly, they’re the “captains” of their teams, and they begin to pick their players. Being so incredible at ultimate frisbee, I’m OBVIOUSLY picked first to be on Evan’s team. Evan assembles a great team, including Lieutenant killerballerina, Lieutenant Synesi, Master Sergeant Charles Howe, and Lieutenant Colonel AmyHat. Rekeri’s team features Lieutenant General Nuriessa, Lieutenant Colonel Morrigan Alexandros, Chief Master Sergeant Kerono, Lieutenant Minuvas, and Lieutenant Virii333.

Evan tosses off the frisbee, and Kerono catches it. Rekeri’s team makes their way down the field, until Minuvas blows a pass from Nuriessa. Synesi picks it up and launches it across the field to Charles Howe, who handily catches it and drops it to AmyHat for a quick points. Evan throws off, the disc soaring across the field. This back and forth battle goes on and on for the next half an hour, until finally the score is 10-9, with Rekeri’s team in the lead.

Rekeri launches it across the field into my waiting arms, and I drop it back to Evan and sprint forward. He crosses it, landing neatly into killerballerina’s arms, who quickly throws it to Synesi. Synesi then crosses it back over to me. I line up a throw and toss the frisbee to AmyHat, who is well within the touchdown boundaries. The score is now 10-10, and we throw it off to Rekeri’s team. Rekeri bombs it to Morrigan, who drops the pass. killerballerina races over and wafts it into the air, and as Evan is about to catch it and clinch the victory, Virii333 bats it down back to earth. He wafts it up into the air at Rekeri, across the field, and the game is over. General Bia Pandora is waving us into the mess hall, and we all race over to fill our empty stomachs.
