Severrus Snape published an article where he among other things discussed Maverick which is allowed in erepublik. As you all can recall it was demarcated a test pack and its continued use would depend on feedback. Which is what Severus gave and is entitled to giving. And not the reason imo why the article was pulled.

In summary the article said and I'm not going to copy it word for word(else it will be lifted and i also banned) Also one cannot publish the same article in more than one feed. but to debate it we need his viewpoint whereafter i will give my viewpoint and afterwards in he comments you can weigh in.:

2. Lower division tanks basically lost their edge that they gained by strength training for years and not leveling up (called zero motting in other games)

He then veers off into there being no more Division 4 epic battles as according to him with MAVERICK players rather do epic in lower divisions.

The game is leaving players little choice between paying and non paying. That to pay has become the only means to remain competitive.

In response i would say. I spend years and years building my experience versus my strength. All online games follow the principles of many paths. Meaning every player should have the opportunity to be successful and competitive and therefore the game must afford him many paths to the same destination.

Secondly adding real value to a game for a paying customer is a positive rather than a negative. Everyone can pay or chose not to pay and others can even help you if you really cannot afford to pay 30 dollar or so a month. Other online games I played all had superior paying games versus the free game.

Finally Zero motting is generally frowned upon that is when a old experienced player hangs around in the kids room to beat them up in a later part of his career. Games handle it in different ways most normal players are also against it.

If we consider epics in lower divisions. To reach epic in Div 4 requires mammoth amounts of damage. This helps the lower divisions. And yes its about being competitive. If the game changes competitive players adjust their games.

The money issue: I have no problem in paying for entertainment. I want game companies to make money if they provide me a service. And I want them to continue being able to provide me with the service , game and updates to keep the game interesting.
