Major Events in Asia Minor!

Intro

When I wrote my last global news article, Nothing New Under the eRepublik Sun, there was no way I could predict the latest developments in Turkey and Iran. The very face of the eRepublik map, not to mention the traditional eRep alliances and hatreds, are all about to change as the result of back-room deals, primarily between USA, Greece, and Turkey...

...And not everyone is happy about it! Before going into that, we will start off first examining the goals and plans of the United States of America, who just recently staged a successful invasion of Iran.

Please subscribe, thank you!

The United States of America’s Intentions in Iran

The ultimate goal of eUS’s invasion of Iran was not disclosed when it first began. It seemed like a way for the US to keep her population busy, perhaps to strike at Turkey with Greece. However, this was not the case at all. When asked about the long term goals of attacking Iran, the eUS president Haliman had this to say:

“Well, obviously Iran is not our target. They were a necessary stepping stone into Europe. For the first time since Jewitt’s presidency, we will be in mainland Europe. Since we have every resource in the game, we need to find more fun things to do.”

So what exactly is USA planning? What kind of ‘fun’ are they going to have in Europe? Visit coffee ships in Amsterdam? Perhaps, but most global analysts think that the following is America’s master plan:

First: USA (dark blue) will continue through Iran (light blue) and then swap through either Greek or Turkish controlled land in Turkey until the Bulgarian border is reached. The map below shows a situation in which Turkey would be wiped from the map, however this is unlikely considering recent developments that will be discussed further in.

Secon😛 Once the Bulgarian border is reached, the United States will swap through Bulgaria (a US ally), finally reaching the region of Vidin, which the US will use to attack Serbia. Why Serbia? Serbia is the #1 ranked nation in eRepublik, and hands down the strongest of the formerly Phoenix-aligned nations. To say Serbia would be a hard nation to take down is an understatement. However, their geographical location would allow for Romania, Croatia, and Bulgaria to all attack alongside the United States. This would be a staggering quadruple threat, even for a nation of Serbia’s stature.

To conquer Serbia is a lofty goal, but one that certainly will keep the interest of many eUS players, both young and old. So, that’s what America is up to. But what about Greece and Turkey, with Greece currently occupying 4 Turkish regions? Are they just trying to destroy each other, as usual? No, for perhaps the first time in their histories, they are working together.

Turkey & Greece, Age-old enemies, now with a common frien😛 America

In my last article I reported on the war between Greece and Turkey. I thought it was just that – a war. But that is not the case. Greece and Turkey are actually on the brink of peace, something unheard of between the rival nations. It goes even deeper though. Not only are they about to make peace, but Greece is in Turkey for the same reason USA is in Iran: They’re headed somewhere else. But while the United States is going towards Europe, Greece is headed to Asia. Specifically, India. As I pointed out in my previous article, there’s a power-void in India, following the collapse of the 2nd Pakistani Empire. Indonesia and China are already doing battle in India, and it looks like Greece is joining the fray.

Guess what, it goes even deeper. Turkey is going to India, too. For the first time in eRep history, Turkey and Greece will be working towards a common goal.

India, occupied by three foreign nations, is looking vulnerable. And Greece and Turkey want a piece of that.

Not all Turks are thrilled about this alliance with Turkey’s oldest enemy, in fact, a huge proportion of the Turkish population is against it. Many see it as a stab in the back to eTurkey’s classic allies, Macedonia/FYROM and Iran, which are being conquered by Bulgaria and USA respectively. The person spearheading this opposition movement is BattalGazi, the most famous Turk, who is also a three time president, nine time media mogul, and 365 time battle hero. Needless to say, his words carry a lot of weight. In his article, the intro summed up his main feelings:

“This article is about how Turkish government sold its old allies in order to be allies with USA.
It is indeed a shameful move, I do not approve what Turkish government does and I will keep fighting for our old allies 😉

Dozens of Turks have echoed his words, saying they will continue to fight for Iran and Macedonia/FYROM. His viewpoint has major support in the Turkish public: Battalgazi’s article got almost double the number of votes the Turkish president’s article (in which he laid out the plan to go to India) did. Perhaps this is because of BattalGazi’s subscribers, perhaps its because more Turks are against working with Greece than for it. There’s no way to know. No matter what, this strong opposition will certainly throw a wrench in plans to make peace between Turkey and Greece, and for those same countries to jointly colonize India.

One other issue that will probably arise is the Turkish president’s plan to attack Bulgaria. This would present problems for the new Turkish-Greek-USA trifecta, with Bulgaria being an important Greek and American ally.

Bulgarian core regions.

In the Turkish president’s article, he stated :

“USA goes to Europe and when it does Plovdiv, Burgas and Sofia will be ours.” (translated)

That’s all for now, but expect more developments in this area of the world!
