Looking Towards The Future

Day 1,133, 19:47 Published in USA USA by Inwegen
Citizens of America,

I come to you today as we enter a new era in the New World. The Mexican conquistadors have been conquered, an historical new regional based alliance, PanAm, is in its infancy, and our nation, through some fun, some games, and some hard work, has been revitalized and re-energised. The collective efforts of our citizens, soldiers, and leaders over the last few months have given us new life. It is a great time to be an American.

Some of you may know me and the work I’ve done over the years. Many of you do not.

I’ve helped elect various presidents during my time in eRepublik. I’ve assisted in foreign policy frequently and have served as Secretary of State. I have run Presidential cabinets as Chief of Staff. I’ve had the pleasure of serving and learning under greats like Scrabman, Harrison Richardson, Chocolate McSkittles, St Krems, and Josh Frost, but I’ve never actively pursued the highest office in the land.

I’ve been asked many times in the past to run and always have declined. Don’t get me wrong, I think we have some good candidates this month, but as we enter the dawn of a new era, with menacing storms on the horizon, we need to fully prepared to find safe harbor and secure a prosperous future for this country.

I know what it takes to steer this ship. Some people consider me an e😜resident because of the amount of high access level work I have done for this country. It is time for me to take the next step.

If you will have me America, I am ready and eager to be your President.

Alliances and Foreign Policy

EDEN has stumbled. Lately, Poland has declined a Romanian MPP. Broadly, the eUS been a non-member since last spring. While we have worked alongside EDEN in many campaigns, we’ve remained steadfast in the belief of a “Third Way” diplomatic stance, not being guided by any alliances but rather by our own interests abroad. We’ve recently expanded and modified this guiding principle into PanAm. The agreement is in early stages, and it needs a strong month of leadership to ensure that it matures into something that will have the ability to change the balance of power in the New World.

I will make sure this happens with the help of our visionary ex-President and current Secretary of State, St Krems. He will remain at that position. Since last May, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Krems on numerous issues of Foreign Affairs. He’s one of the best players in the game. He’s logical, methodical, and brilliant. He does not relent until the job is finished. I am proud to consider him my friend.

I will also be retaining current President Frost. He will serve as my National Security Advisor. His connections abroad will be a great help to the goals of PanAm and of the United States. I’ve known Josh for a very long time, and I trust him immensely. America will be stronger by keeping the Battle Kitteh in the Executive Branch.

Domestic and Public Relations

I’ve never been completely geared towards the domestic or public part of the game, although I actually started out very early as a media affairs person before moving to other things. Way back in November of 2008 I started playing eRep. By January ‘09, I was USWP Communications Director. By February, I was Sectary of State. When I wrote articles, it was for my party or the people I was helping get elected. More than anything at that time, I was working on State Department duties. My job didn’t allow me to do much public interaction.

My Vice Presidential pick comes into play here. I have picked current Secretary of Media and former Chief of Staff, CRoy, to be my VP. He’s been extremely active as a writer for his personal paper, as a political organizer and new player mentor, as a Senator, and he’s has done a great job putting together White House Press Releases. He’s the strong domestic side of the ticket, while I’m the strong foreign diplomacy side. We’ll make perfect balance.

Cabinet

Running a country takes two primary things: a smart, hard working cabinet and an even harder working Chief of Staff that makes sure all the trains run on time. Chief of Staff is arguably one of the toughest jobs. I would know. They must manage a large number of people, keep the executive branch on track, and make sure that the President is focusing on the things that need his attention while the staff handles everything else.

There are few people I trust to be completely capable of the high caliber of work needed to put together a successful term. It takes a cold, hard, [word that rhymes with witch] to do this job. Who is one of the coldest in the game? PrincessMedyPi. That’s right. I’m giving you Pi, America. Delicious home-baked MedyPi.

Throughout my time in this game, I’ve seen Mel continue to be one of the hardest workers around. She’s a former VP and CoS, and after coming back from some RL frenzy, she is ready to kick butt and take names.

Sometimes being CoS requires diligence. Sometimes it requires a whip. One thing we all know is Mellie has no shortage of whips, and she’s more than willing to use them to get down to business. All the way down, if you ask nicely. 😁

My face when I heard who else is running

The is much more to come, America. This is just the beginning of what I know will be a wonderful relationship. I’d like to welcome all of you let me know what you think about my candidacy, ask me questions about the policies that are most important to you, and send a friend request. You can do all of that here.
