3. Ah, I guess I read your statement incorrectly and too quickly. As it stands, Evry's reasoning in the first thread was not unsound. After all, Congress tried to pass "No Confidence" in Yui after he simply didn't post a sign-in for the week.

If people don't have confidence in the Speaker's ability, it's their right to question it. I hate the word "impeachment" when it comes to the Speaker because it's not accurate. An impeachment refers to a charge or indictment against an official, usually a crime of some sort.

A VoNC is simply a legislature removing their elected leadership because they've "lost confidence" in them to actually lead.

I know, but most people won't know what it means when I use the politically correct term.

Going on the forum at all is playing their game by their rules. Accepting a fake office such as Speaker is the same; it is part of their system and you stand or fall at their whim.

“Legislation” in the forum is not law at all; simply hot air.

This is my opinion from a neutral Congress member:
Your run was doomed from day 1, you got in by some kind of mistake and they wanted you out any way possible, not a very good way to attract people in the forum, something they are working hard on doing right now, I mean, I’ve seen worst from a SOH without being punished.

On the other hand, as Derphoof pointed out, your article has factual errors that are misleading to the public, not sure this article was necessary, but whatever...

Nobody I know wanted Jimmy out any way possible.

The first person who came to me to ask for my opinion about a No Confidence vote was from another Party. That person's concerns were valid but I refused to support no confidence exactly because Jimmy and I were working together in private.

Jimmy fed the growing lack of confidence. He was not the victim.

I'll not suddenly start lying to you DC. I actually tried to stop the impeachment at the onset. Bit since I'm the loudmoith in congress these days, SFP is painting a target. Please don't you start shooting at it too.

I’m not saying you are lying, far from it, after all these years, I have 100% trust in you and my comment was not directed at you specifically. I will stand by my statement, don’t care what party he if from, but he was gangbanged like crazy on the forum after his mistakes, and again, I have seen worst from a SoH before. After seeing this, believe me I will never apply for SoH (not that I want to). Maybe I’m wrong, but that is the general feeling I had.

What I observed was this: People didn't give him a very long rope.

An example: his first act as Speaker. He handled it pretty well. The MoFA had asked for a particular VERY IMPORTANT thread to have the 24 hour rule waived. Jimmy didn't know what to do, so he did the smart thing: he asked for help. When that happened my expectations that his term would go well rose. Jimmy asked for help. That was excellent.

But I know that some people saw it as a sign of incompetence.

Now both sides are true. A competent Speaker would have known how obvious it was to waive that 24 hour rule in that particular case. So yeah I get it, he needed help for one of the most basic decisions a Speaker can make.

But the fact that he KNEW the gravity of the situation and didn't want to make a mistake and had the humility and wherewithal to ask for advice told me that he was going to be fine. He got a very long rope from me and several others from my Party. I know this as fact.

But there were also those who gave him a short rope. So if you're looking at those people I can understand the optics are: "let's get rid of him".

My issue with this yellow journalism is that he's lying about me.

After I resigned, I found out that I hadn't actually broken the rules. It's at the speaker's discretion to decide when something should be public.

Think about what you just said, Jimmy. You were the Speaker of the House and you didn't really have the first clue what that job entailed.

Jimmy that was clearly stated over and over in the impeachment threads. The whole reason why every started anything was because you seemed to be mostly absent. You know I did not support impeachment till the end, but I for one clearly wrote that it's not the actual breaking a law that was the problem... The problem was the actual action. Yes soh has the ability to declassify anything, but if an soh does so and congress decides it was unwarranted, the recourse congress has is to hold a vote of no confidence.

Seriously, how did you not read all that in your own impeachment thread?

BTW, I checked the eRepublik manual. There is no such thing as a Speaker of the House. All this kerfuffle is about another game that some people like to play called "eUSA Forum".

I didn't vote for Jimmy. But once the speaker vote was passed, I shared my thoughts publicly: I am not happy our man lost, but I am glad that Jimmy is going to get a chance. That's what I said and that's what I meant.

Then I backed up my commitment to helping new people by sharing multiple threads with you here ingame. Sometimes I'd alert you to developing things that would need your attention, sometimes I linked you to portions of the Constitution which pertained to matters under discussion, and sometimes I simply encouraged you to keep trying. I invite you to share those lengthy and numerous PM threads with the public. They will contradict your narrative.

What changed, Jimmy, was the result of you going about your business badly despite all the help you were receiving.
