JT's House

Day 4,115, 13:24 Published in Netherlands Australia by JackTrout

I have lived in this third world mud hut off and on for over 20 years now.

There is no running water or electricity. Well, there was electricity, but when the drug dealers who lived here for the last few years got murdered, the power got switched off and it was too decrepit, expensive, and complicated to turn it back on.

So I have a small solar setup, and rain barrels for water. The outdoor bucket shower is fine, except a bit frosty in these coldest months of the year.

I live here with my dog and the ghosts- only the good ghosts; I asked the bad ones to leave when I moved back in.

My bow is always handy, and I keep some of my meaner hand tools near the doors.

Anyway, no one comes around. I have a great view of the road in, and my dog outweighs me and is very well-trained and well-known. Quiet is good.

All true. Maybe.
