eUSA is a community.
Like all communities, we have variety.
And like most communities, we have controversy when diversity leads to disagreement.
I don't want to presume anything. I am just a journalist who happens to be electable from time to time. But I have a fairly clear view of what is exacerbating the rift between JCS-oriented Military-types and anti-JCS Military-types. And I'd like to offer myself, my time, my attention to addressing this issue.
I want to reiterate: I am really nobody as far as ePolitics is concerned. I don't have a horse in this race. What I am and will always be is an eAmerican observer with a penchant for equilibrium.
It is my view that despite the natural human urge to identify an alien party as "enemy", it is possible to redirect this urge so that a diverse population can rally together under a common cause.
What has been lacking in JCS/anti-JCS dialogue has been leadership.
If there is any hope for resolution (and by resolution I mean an end to the complaining, attacking, and finger-pointing), it will come ONLY through a MUTUAL SUBMISSION to a third-party arbitration.
I am calling upon the eUS Community to consolidate your voice. Let's put pressure on both JCS and non-JCS to subjugate themselves to an independent authority. In the real world, conflict resolution requires prior agreement to submit to outside authority. Only public pressure is going to make this happen.
I am willing to form an independent counsel for resolution of the months-old war between the eUS Military and the eUS Government.
In order to be effective, subjugation will be required. Both sides will need to agree to abide by the recommendations of this independent counsel. This will likely require a movement of Congress and a whole lotta trust.
Another option is to just keep fighting, keep bitching back and forth, keep publishing closed-minded drivel aimed at gaining the upper hand, keep missing each other, keep trolling, keep flaming, and keep crapping on ourselves as a community.
That's fine. You can always get votes for your articles.
If you want an independent counsel to recommend a binding resolution to this ongoing SLAPFEST, reply below with the following:
"End the Madness."
With your support, I will work towards a conflict-resolution that will result in a stronger eUSA, a more peaceful Military environment, and an increase in the effectiveness of our Military budget.
Let's get it done.

End the Madness.
End the Madness.
Well said.
End the February 2011 madness!
Well said. End the Madness.
I'd love to see something like this happen where people were given the time to sit down and work out their differences.
How about we just let them do whatever they want, wasn't that the purpose of them leaving in the first place?
End The Madness

MARCH MADNESS! Also I would like to be an independent mediator.
End the CryBabyness!
In theory, this is a great idea. But how can you expect it to honestly work and bring about a resolution when you have someone like Pfeiffer who is so hell bent on destroying the JCS and the US Military? You want to get to the core of the problem, well there is one of the core issues.
End the Madness.
End the Madness.
End the Madness.
The problem is you have the same people arguing with the same people over the same things. The eUSA is run by a "good ole boy" network that only does for themselves. They make all kinds of promises about where you can go and what you can do in eRep. but at the end of the day it's all smoke and mirrors to turn you into a two clicking, piece of commune fodder. They don't want new blood, or new ideas or a different direction. The people in charge want things the way they are. With them in charge. And it is choking the life from the eUSA and turning the experiance stagnant.
End the Madness
I like madness
The problem with this is that there is nothing to dispute. Really, think about it. What will this independent counsel decide on? What is at issue here? You cannot arbitrate drama or animosity. The eUSmil is not receiving any aid or funds, so there is no financial decision to be made. The eUS exec does not have any say in the inner workings of the JCS, so there is no decision about administration to be made.
The conflict cannot be resolved through independent arbitration. The conflict is that there is a lack of respect and animosity. What people in the eUSMil perceive as an anti-JCS agenda. This results in people being on edge, wary of anyone's intentions. If people just let go of the drama, things would change.
If anything, in my own experience, when there is lack of respect or so much drama in a judicial proceeding nothing gets solved. Nothing. No one really wins in court and it just exacerbates the issues as things are dragged up and brought up again. I see this every day. I doubt, in this case, the entire process would even be cathartic at all.
Arbitration sounds like a great thing, a fair trial sounds like a great thing. I have never seen people come out with any issue resolved. You cannot resolve issues such as this for people. There is no fact dispute, this is just subjective. People must work through this on their own.
Let me ask, what types of decisions do you seek to make in this proceeding? What type of issues are you expecting to see? What do you see as possible resolutions? Once we have answers to questions such as this, we can debate the issue further. As it stands, arbitration is for when there are issues as to liability, disagreement, and/or dispute to be decided upon. I do not see those things in the present matter. I just see drama. You can't litigate drama.
Forgive, move on and let it go.
Its kind of sad when the government decides to attack the military that is only trying to protect them and their allies.
Nice try Gnilraps. o7
End the madness.
How about this:
There is no official military.
All the militias and military units get to compete for a slice of the 400,000 USD expenditure the CBO makes each month on Defense. Pleasant idea - and it increases competition. I love it.

"How about this:

That is a cool idea. The competition would increase influence dealt in battlefields. However, that idea wouldn't change the "anti-JCS" attitude.
Haters will continue to hate.
Haters will continue to hate.
Haters are always ignorant as well. I can't say it's undeserved etc. But it is rather dismal and disappointing on both sides. No one is free of guilt in this deal. My idea eliminates the idea of "official". It means everyone is equal (until it comes up to funding ofc. - more members signifies more funding under OMS terms as of now). Damage would be increase, and more then likely - everyone will be trying to outdo one-another in the grand scheme of things. To be honest - I don't mind name-calling as long as damage is being done. By calling anyone a name - you prove that you are sub-human.
TBH, this drama probably keeps a lot of people on both sides around.
^ Dell Fargus has a point. I suppose. It's a true and sad point.
OMFG WHO GIVES A SHIT
"TBH, this drama probably keeps a lot of people on both sides around."
"^ Dell Fargus has a point. I suppose. It's a true and sad point."
That is pretty sad.
I wish there were good things we can all rally around to be happy about, instead of this pathetic shit.
The only arbitration that needs to be done is how to maintain solid communication between the Exec and the old Military group. I'm sure everyone understands that you guys don't take funding so you have the freedom you wish. However, everyone also realizes that you guys have a group of good, active soldiers and their damage would help strengthen our country as a whole.
So the final goal should be constant quality communication on where to direct reliable damage for our country and our allies. If we go whatever which way with our target choices, it will only weaken our country as whole. Just like when EDEN and TERRA or back in old EDEN when we couldn't focus our damage with our allies, we lost battle after battle to Phoenix/ONE. When we pulled through together as a tight entity, we steamrolled them through planning and cooperation.
We all know there is no chance or reason to merge the old guard with the new, those who keep asking for it are just uninformed or ignorant. The only thing that should be focused now is attitude towards each other and communication.
Who is the arbiter?
Pizza The Hut?
"I wish there were good things we can all rally around to be happy about, instead of this pathetic shit."
Love of Pumpkin Pie? thats a good thing to rally on
"The only thing that should be focused now is attitude towards each other and communication."
Amen.
This is what I have been saying Kell. This is what I called for in my last article. Sadly, Vanek was unwilling to do just that. He kept on with the recriminations. We need to move past that and if we can't, someone that is able to should be in charge.
Gopats...you pie-fidel!!!
Cake RULES!
What I define in this article as "resolution" is an end to the conflict.
I purposely did not offer any greater detail than that, as I do not presume any greater goal.
If conflict is desired, then my proposal is useless.
However if conflict is decreasing our Military effectiveness as an eUSA, then I think that conflict should be resolved.
So the answer to MA's question, "What will an Independent Counsel decide on?" is this:
An Independent Counsel can - at minimum - recommend guidelines that result in a military environment that is more predictable in terms of directing damage, more equitable in terms of allocating resources, and more peaceable in terms of influencing new Citizens.
We all know there is no chance or reason to merge the old guard with the new, those who keep asking for it are just uninformed or ignorant. The only thing that should be focused now is attitude towards each other and communication. X2
Remember, when Custer put together that whole "reunion" Challenge Coin day with the JCS and the USAF, everyone who was there said it kicked ass.
More then 400k. Its 390k on USAF, 160k on OMS off the top of my head. so 550k. Just saying.
Gnillraps, I think that can only happen if people were willing to move on. But, they don't seem to be able to do that. Guidelines can only go so far as the respect put in them and on the people dealing with each other.
I messed up a bit Vanek. But - same concept. I forgot to add in the totals of OMS. -sigh- *looks stupid*

SO LET'S SEND GOLDZ AND DOLLAR BILLS TO THOSE WHO DON'T FOLLOW EXECUTIVE ORDERS. GREAT IDEA!
I HAZ SKILLZ
We were trying to communicate and cooperate. Our Chairman and Vice Chairman were and have been in the NSC channel as you all have been demanding. They are the leaders of the US Military, so per your definition we were complying with your request. But, HisAirness is now banned from that channel. In exchange, the SoD and the prez were COMPROMISING and trying to work with us until Pfeiffer figured it out and made threats so that now the prez doesn't try at all... not to mention Vanek demanded the SoD be fired as well.
Yep, you guys really do want cooperation... oh wait...
No one is innocent.
I love Gnilraps.

Something both sides agree on 😁^
I AM THE MADNESS
Wow... talk about history repeating itself. Now that everyone's gotten heated about old problems, media whores will all try and get in on it, people will all get pissed and pick a side, then once again another issue will overtake it in precedence and it will go dormant for another month or two until someone pisses on someone else's boots again. Hot damn this is getting old.
