Igor Thunderbrow for Taoiseach
Igor Thunderbrow
Daoine na hÉireann,
I, Igor Thunderbrow, wish to announce my candidature for election to the office of Taoiseach on April 5th of this year.
In my five terms as TD and my two as Minister of Defence, I have served the people of eIreland to the utmost of my ability. I have not got confidence in this current government, I believe firmly that change is needed and it is needed now. What we need is a Government prepared to take action and put themselves on the line for the good of the country. That is what I humbly pledge to do if elected to government.
A New Era of Action Politics
What eIreland needs is a government that has the courage to act not react. We need a government that takes an active role in creating a better eIreland, a more equal eIreland, a more secure and stable eIreland. In the past term it has been the Irish Union Party that has offered innovative new ideas and proposals. It has been the Irish Union Party that has acted for the good of the people of eIreland and refused to hide behind the bureaucracy and endless paperwork that typify Dáil Éireann under the current administration.
An Irish Union Party Government will not stand idle, an Irish Union Party government will be constantly working for the good of the nation as whole economically, socially, politically. We will make proposals that actually work, proposals that bring about action and change not just more paperwork and bureaucracy like so many proposals in recent times.
For a active government, for a Dáil Éireann free of pointless paperwork and endless bureaucracy, vote Igor Thunderbrow for Taoiseach.
Democracy
Throughout my time in eRepublik I have fought for the democratic freedoms of the eIrish people. When Ireland Reborn occupied us I was an outspoken member of the resistance. When Romania first invaded Hungary to further her imperialistic goals, I was in Gyor fighting for freedom. When Nationalists in Northern Ireland screamed for recognition I helped organise the setting up of the United Ireland Party and goving tem a legitimate voice. When we were undemocratically propelled into the European Social Alliance, I pushed for a referendum and for the ratification of the eIrish constitution.
Democracy and goving a voice to the eIrish people has always and will remain the central tenet of Irish Union Party policy and is what I will pursue if elected to government on April 5th.
For months we have operated without a constitution or any framework for government, thanks to my recent proposal we now have a constitution ratified and enacted by the Dáil.
Daoine na hÉireann, for democracy, for giving a voice to the eIrish people, vote Igor Thunderbrow for Taoiseach.
Investment in our Future
For the past number of terms I have urged fiscal conservatism for our governments. Our State sector has expanded and expanded with important companies often going idle.
I feel strongly that we have enough State Companies and do not need anymore for the forseeable future. Instead I want to see a shift in focus from manufacturing, weapons, gifts etc to long terms investment in the future of the eIrish people. Housing and Hospitals are what I believe we must concentrate for the long term development of eIreland, instead of wasting yet more taxpayers money on more state owned companies which will lie idle for months, we should make investments and reap the rewards in the future.
For foresight, for the future of eIreland, vote Igor Thunderbrow for Taoiseach.
Over the next few days I will be publishing more information about the election, my policies, running mate and the format of government that I wish to implement.
To see my work as TD please look at my (almost) weekly "The Week in Congress" articles.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir,
Igor Thunderbrow

I jest
Very good you have my vote!
and mine
@James: I do have someone lined up for Tánaiste, expect an announcement later today or tomorrow... unfortunately I went for someone else though James 😃 Don't be too disappointed.
Igor i hope you get president you seem to have done a very good good with defense
The first cut is the deepest Igor
igor i say you will try to sort all the probelms in eIreland you got my vote 🙂
Best of luck Igor.
All very informative...I'm looking forward to hearing more about your possible development plans for here in the Cork/Kerry region, and any policies for advancing the hordes of new-borns with relevant support and guidance.
Oh, and I finally got off the fence ;0)
Grainne.
Thanks Gráinne, Cork & Kerry is a region that I will be prioritising infrastructure wise for a number of reasons. More information later but basically it is one of our more vulnerable regions and our second biggest region and arguably our most active (considering last congress elections wild cards).
Its shocking that there is no hospital in the region, that is something I will work on if elected.
Igor, I couldn't agree more. Glad to see it is a priority for you.
(By the way, I couldn't get a fada in the birth registry :0( So glad to see you keep resurrecting it for me... )
Gráinne
You got my vote!
You have my confidence and my vote. I trust in Igor to lead the eIrish nation to a better future, one that I can envision as a model to the rest of erepublik.
Public or private hospital Igor. If subsidised, I imagine some players would be interested in owning a hospital in Cork-Kerry.
HD.
@ Kerry co-op: I will have to look into which would be a more economically viable option. The state hospital company only makes Q4 so I may look into other options if that proves too expensive.
no do not privaties the health sector in cork kerry.
Ugh... The newbies you promise "Hospitals! Investment in our future!" to don't even have any clue how hospitals work...
Well, I know what they do. They heal your wellness after a war in that region as far as I know. When are the elections anyway?
5th of April.
Hospitals are useless unless we are at war.
@Kazturkey: On Sunday. Presidential Elections are on the 5th of every month.
However, hospitals are useful for showing the people of that region that we want to look out for them. Which we do, so why not give it a go? I don't think regular people want to see our government telling them that hospitals don't matter.
Hospitals are of course valuable, but considering our current position, money could be better spent on other things ahead of a hospital.
Exactly, we're not going to be invaded. The only other reason you would build Hospitals or Defence System would be if there was a lack of employment, and that isn't the case at this moment and time.
It is investment in our future my good fellows.
I know that you are a rather short sighted bunch of people but surely even you can see that having the nation's second most populated region without even a hospital is pure lunacy.
My election promise number one is that I will get to work immediately on a hospital for the Cork and Kerry region. Investment is needed for the future.
Listen Igor, we havent been invaded by the US yet. What makes you so sure that this will change. We have a limited supply of gold Igor, you must remember this, or you are the one who is being short sided. How do you plan to fund the construction of a High Quality hopsital while maintaing or MPP's, keeping our health system ago and so on.
... I'm sorry if you take this the wrong way Theus but I can't make much out of your last few sentences.
Building a hospital through running the state hospital company will cost no more than running another state company Theus. It is a simple relocation of resources and priorities within the state company initiative.
We have not been invaded by the US yet (or Canada or the UK for that matter) but it may happen in the future or one of these nations may be annexed. Look at other eNations, those that have been up and running as long as us nearly all have much better hospitals than us. We have 2 regions with no hospitals, it is honestly disgraceful.
Again I state, Cork and Kerry is in dire need of a hospital. If you want foresight to invest in your future and the future of eIreland then vote for Igor Thuderbrow and Eamon_de Valera on Sunday.
But what is the point of building something and wasting gold on a hospital that the likelyhood is(and for the sake of you're credibility don't deny this)that we will never be invaded on that front. This wont benefit the citizens of the region, all it will do is ensure something else needs to be cut.
The funny thing is you were criticising wasteful spending.
To have putting in a hospital as your number 1 priority is a bit, misguided.
Do you not think providing houses to newer citizens is a better use of funds and efforts than a Q4 hospital which may never see action?
Again boy oh boys, please read.
I won't be spending our GOLD or spending loads of money.
I want to use the state company to make a hospital. Therefore it costs nothing more than running any state company to make a hospital.
Please read before making comments such as these.
and Top Gun: Please read my article (you know the 32 or so vote one) or my more recent one and you will see my policy on housing. but house building has already been started so doesn't require as much from me as hospital building would.
As much as I would like to engage in respectful debate I'm afraid talking excessively to you would be too much of a risk to my laptop and it's surroundings.
I look forward to competing with you and your ego on election day 🙂
Making a Q4 hospital at the State company costs over 100 gold for the raw materials ALONE.
