Ok folks, now that I have seen the war module I am happy to officially declare eRepublik dead to me. This game started as a slightly-rough-around-the-edges game that showed promise and has descended into a boring time sink that offers absolutely no redeeming quality whatsoever.
Any enjoyment that I have leeched from this game lately has been almost 100% user-driven. The eRepublik is lucky that they have had some very strong community members driving interaction, in the end if they are to succeed they will need to remember and enhance that. The war module was the final straw, I'm wondering if they even unit tested it before they rolled it out to end users.
Beyond terrible software development practices and completely ignoring the community I also found it incredibly tacky to ask their community to start paying them before the game even made it out of beta. Their monetization strategy is completely flawed and promises to offer little in the way of funding.
Uhg, I don't even care enough to continue ranting...now on to the fun part....
I will be auctioning off all of my holdings to the highest bidder. Please feel free to bid in the comments. All proceeds will be donated to the US treasury and I will be done. I will not give out the login to my accounts and I will not give anything away.
I am a firm believer in having to pay for what you get. If my reserves are not met within the next couple of days I will just completely shut everything down and folks can build their own businesses.

@Dascoo: You do realize that many of these people didn\'t exploit a hospital (or at least one)...there is an option to \"buy a wellness pack -- Nobody can tell what is inside the wellness box but the ones who opened it said that they felt a wellness boost immediately.\" I spent a great deal of gold on these just to see what it was all about.
There is no cap on how many you can buy and they are instant...this is not exploiting, this is simply using the tools that the admins have made available. If they should be capped that is a design decision, not an exploit.
@Nave: Sorry man, as much as I like many of the people here I am just unable to deal with the glaring software issues that occur on a daily basis. I help to maintain a website that gets 2-3 million hits per day and the stuff the eRepublik staff shovels at us is brown, fragrent, and curiously familiar.....
Maalygos, look at those who moved to Hawaii today and exploited the Q3 hospital there and cross reference to the latter half of the fights during the war today.
That is so blatantly obvious that there is no doubt these people cheated. That is not to say every American did, not by any means but understand some of these individuals are in leadership positions and without doubt have tarnished the entire eAmerican reputation.
No, Maal, a lot of people are exploting the use a hospital more than once thing.

I agree with Maal entirely, but I\'m going to keep hanging around and hope things improve.

Too bad, we really like this newspaper. So, where to start:
- the war module: we promised the 7th of April. The dev team worked daily in the last 2 weeks before releasing this new feature. Some of the problems were known by us and waiting to be resolved, but didn\'t affect the game. Others, like the hospital problem, were more complex. If yesterday wouldn\'t appear the server loading problem we could focus much more on the war module. Anyway, what we want is to have an original, bugfree and interesting war module. I consider that the first thing is resolved, the next one will be accomplished in the next weeks, while the third one depends a lot on your feedback.
- the bugs - we know that this is a big problem and has many causes but the important thing is that in the next period of time we will focus 100% on fixing bugs and improving the loading time.
- ignoring community - Even if we interfere very rare in discussions we watch close your ideas and problems and act accordantly. As now we have Cristi (Cristesco) in our team things are on the right track.
- Community involvement - well, yes, that\'s the Erepublik idea. Erepublik is not a \"single player game\". Without community Erepublik is nothing. For the next version we will continue even further allowing the community even to build easily new modules within Erepublik.
- monetization strategy - In every business there is a risk taken. And here that risk is supported by us. You can still enjoy for free Erepublik. Let us worry about the monetization strategy.
I hope you enjoyed Erepublik and you will get back in this world as soon as it will become better (and I personally assure you that it will).
