After three years and one month, I’m done with the eUK, and done with eRepublik. More important things to worry about in life than arguing with Dapper for the sixth hundredth time in my time on here, so I’m calling it quits.
I made my mistakes, and I’ve gone well out of my way to apologise for them and work to make some kind of amends- which is far more than so many that have f*cked up or otherwise ruined the UK have done.
Despite that, every single project I have proposed or worked on has ended up being an almighty struggle; I’ve lost count of the number of people I have clashed with or the number of times that I have done it. After a while it just isn’t fun.
I’m not going to waste everyone’s time with a vainglorious essay on my elife and ‘my personal struggle’ or any other kind of wet-wipe nonsense.
I did my best ok, and every action I have taken in the past year and a bit has been what I thought would be the best for the eUK. Some of you probably don’t think that and that’s fine. I don’t care, I know it and the people who remain important to me on here know that.
To those that have been friends to me on here, you know who you are, I’ll still be on steam and irc but I’m done with playing eRepublik. More important and rewarding things to be cracking on with.
It’s just not any fun anymore.

Sorry to hear this, I think quite a few of us have come very close to this, and it's usually a stiff drink and sleeping on it that clears yesterdays problem from a flare-up to an insignificance.
For my own part, whilst we have had run-ins due to style, which is probably a reflection of where your eAge and becoming a bit jaded/tired with the whole caboodle, I hope you'd agree or come to see that whilst I'll argue a particular point, it's the politics and not the man I look to grief.
More happiness in future endeavours, if this isn't just a short break.

I really try to see the best in everyone (even dear old Ajay/Winston) - but when I see crass comments like yours here I despair....
In here you cannot be killed by gameplay - but you can be driven into quitting by crappy snide comments like yours.
Boaty, whilst not perfect (who in here can claim that?) has contributed a huge amount to the quality of life within eUK - and will be sorely missed. I am hoping that if it is not too late he is able to take a deep breath and start a eHoliday to regroup in order to re-engage with us in a month or so....

The secret to success in erep is not to care too much. The more you think you can make a difference and achieve something - the more you will be disappointed. We know this is a dying game with a declining population. Apathy is the secret of success - it is what keeps most of us going.

Might want to try a vacation before quitting the game entirely - I've been considering moving over to Ireland for a bit (especially now my taxes are going to go to paying congressmen to vote), you should try something like that before leaving entirely.

You shouldnt take one person's comment too seriously. At the end of the day you just gotta agree to disagree and move on, some people thrive on getting in your head.
You were a cool MoD but like Paul said, caring too much is sadly a double edged sword with this game.
I hope you stick on and Apples doesnt accept your resignation. Stick around and maybe the MU tourney will convince you otherwise 🙂

Well. Of all the people I'd thought would leave, you were the least likely. We may have had our differences in opinion, but there was never any malice and some mutual respect at times.

Quite understand - Harry/dapper once again showed his true colours in his response. I think he's driven most of us close to quitting - I only stay for the NHS and because I am darned if a troll will make me quit a game I once liked.
