Join the new world

This is an article I have written in my head numerous times over the last year and a half give or take. One day in early June 2018, I called my wife and told her my Postmaster had screwed me over for the last time. For the 3 years prior I worked 6 to 7 days a week with an hourly tally that varied from 55 to 75 hours. I was considered a part time temporary employee so I worked harder for less. For years they strung me along with promises of becoming a full time career letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. Those promises were either broken outright or bumped off to some vague distant time. Spring of 2018 it was all supposed to be different. Until it wasn't. So I spent the summer of 2018 doing projects on the house in order to get ready to sell. I applied for a transfer to the main office in my home town, we sold our house, and we moved 1800 miles from Zachary Louisiana to Logan Utah.



When it was time to make the drive I posted on the Federalist Party Forums that I would be MIA for a time, but would return when things normalized. That was early September 2018. I fully intended to be back as soon as I could, but the more time passed the more erepublik grew smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror. Don't get me wrong with the years that I have put into the community of the eUSA and the Federalist Party I never forgot the game. I would frequently wonder how things were going. Often while doing a walking delivery loop I would compose potential articles in my head. Yet still I resisted the urge to return.

Caring about erepublik is not an easy thing. I firmly believe that we who remain care more about this game and the community within it than the actual admins of the game. For years we have struggled to manage the onset of rot and decay brought about by the neglect of erepublik labs or whatever they call themselves these days. For those who have been here any amount of time the toll of watching countless friends and adversaries hit the exits becomes exponentially harder to bear. Knowing all of these things I decided to stay away, live my life, and reflect fondly on my time in erepublik.

That changed on the 25th. My phone pinged me to tell me I had a private message on the Federalist forums. An event that had not happened in a very long time. Curious in spite of myself, I logged into the Federalist Party forums. It was a message from my old Federalist Party adversary Melissa Rose. It urged me and any other departed Fed to return. I still was not convinced until I saw a post by Paul Proteus. Our Forums abandoned...it was a kick to the gut. After further discussion about the state of the community. I decided my hiatus needed to be finished.

During my time in this game I have amassed a decent amount of CC, gold, and factories. I have spent more real life dollars on this game then I care to tally up let alone admit. That money is gone and will never return. So I might as well make use of what was purchased. So it is that I am going to once again revive FediCare. One of the last articles I wrote before my hiatus was an announcement on the return of FediCare. A program Paul Proteus and I cooked up during the course of several IRC conversations.



It was designed to stimulate activity by rewarding tanks. I also announced I was reviving and merging in No Fed Left Behind. Well I am once again doing so. Below is a quote from the above linked article regarding the two programs:

"FediCare will be supplied on a weekly basis. Starting this week the tanks will be distributed on Fridays. I have also combined No Fed Left Behind with the form. NFLB is another program that we are unshelving. It is a supply drop that can be requested every day. It consists of 50 Q5 Food and 5 Q7 Tanks. This is not an either or drop. If you want to request Food and Tanks that is not a problem, however, you do have the option of requesting just food or tanks. That is the gist of it. Obviously it was designed to drive traffic and posting to the now abandoned forums. Well I am okay with people once more returning to our old stomping grounds. In fact in the coming days I will be tweaking the gform to reward any and all who visit and post in our forums regardless of Party affiliation. I will need to work with Party leadership to find a way to verify voting in Party Primaries as Party Poals no longer occur on the old Forums. Nevertheless we will figure it out.

I must emphasize that I am not currently in Party Leadership. I have discussed with Party President Melissa Rose and others I am here to help. I believe they are on board with what I am doing. That said nothing I have written here is official Party Policy. I am simply a private citizen looking to help strengthen our community.
