I'm Not Done Yet

Day 1,645 of the New World
22 May 2012

Every day I hear another person declare the end of their patience with this game.

Sometimes it's the way Admin has turned this into a "Premium" game...

Sometimes it's the trolls and thicktards who suck around on the Forums like overgrown Plecostomi...

...another Forum troll hard at work...

And sometimes it's just that there's such a huge mountain to climb in order to feel competitive...

Yeah, I get it.

But I'm not done yet.

So I am running for another term in Congress.

And the reason why has something to do with those issues I listed above.

I don't think there is anything that an ingame Government body like Congress can do to "fix" what is broken about eRepbulik. We who continue to play, do so knowing that our toy isn't working as well as it used to.

But there's still plenty that a Congress can do to:

1: mitigate some of the polarizing effect of Plato's Gold appetite.

2: marginalize a few trolls.

and
3: make it a little easier for the newer players to have the tools they need to level up a little bit more quickly.

So I am running for Congress (in Michigan, so PM me for moving expenses) specifically to fight for the reinvigorating of the Office of Militia Support.

My goal is to work toward a Congress that votes to support the following:

1: An expansion of the number of Military Units supported by OMS.
...using reasonable guidelines...

2: A renovation of the way funds are disbursed to OMS Militias.
...assuring fiscal responsibility...

3: A new method for accountability among OMS Militias.
...combining ingame mechanics and meta-game tech...
---

I've got a preliminary sketch of how this would all look. It needs some input from some other experienced players as well as a little inspiration from some new players.

I want to see an Office of Militia Support that raises the level of gameplay for as many eUS Citizens as possible.

My passion for this is grounded in experience.

I run a Military Unit which enjoyed OMS support for many months. There were some frustrations associated with being an OMS-affiliated MU. I think many of those frustrations can be eliminated.

Easy Company has now been off OMS support for 3 weeks. We continue to distribute supplies at an extremely high level. I believe EZC is the MU it is today in part because of its long history with OMS.

I want other MU's to share in that benefit.

Life in a private Military Unit confers many unique benefits that cannot be found in a fully Government funded Military. I could raise a large chorus of "Amen's" to this point, I am sure. The point is to support that unique culture with a Congressional commitment.

I've been in congress before so I know the ropes.

I'm not afraid of the trolls and bottom-feeders who make Forum life miserable for many.

I know OMS inside and out, and I enjoy a very amicable relationship with its longtime director SGTRock.

I have a proven record of success in almost every endeavor I've undertaken in this game. What bumps I've endured in my road have also wizened me.

I have absolutely nothing to gain personally from this plotted course, it is entirely drawn from my hope that eUSA can be an even better place to live out your eLife.

I ask you to share this article with anyone who is currently in a private Military Unit. I will be fighting for all of them as a congressman, just as I am proud to fight side by side with them on the battlefield.

I'd appreciate your vote.
