I'd like to talk to you about sex...

...tants, which are totally trippy machines, really. But I don't know much about them. So instead, read the following article.

I decided I wanted to share this AFA post in my media. I expect many of you will find at least something in what I say here to get mad about. But I don't want anyone to think I have anything to hide with regards to my thoughts, and the AFA in general, many of who's members I consider friends.

So rage if you must.

In the Party Presidential Nomination thread, I receive a nomination:

Candor responds: (and yes, I always talk about myself in the second person)

I might sometime (join). And I'm making friends here whom I enjoy quite a bit. Everyone's an individual, and I judge everyone on their own merit.

I like Viarizi and think he'll make a fine Party President for you guys. He's active as heck and devoted to the AFA.

Some thoughts on the AFA though:

Being completely candid (pun intended, lol), the AFA atm plays the role of opposition party. And there's validity in that role. But there's also some problems:

1) Being against "elitists":

Not all old players are "elitists" of course, so you're using that term really to describe what RGR would call "Pfeifferists", or people within his sphere of influence. Being someone who judges others on their merits, I can't specifically agree with labeling any specific group ("elites" or "Pfeifferists") and then treating all as if they were one. I'd have to treat each as the individuals they are.

2) Opposition positions:

What does the AFA stand for, or against? You could use a few defining points, different from the other T5.

I know the AFA would like to see open borders, essentially. Is this correct? I agree that Congressmen are allowed to give citizenship to anyone they want, that's mechanically the rules within the game. BUT there's also validity in working with the other groups in the nation to screen people coming in, as best as is possible, with regards to the intentions of the applicant.

Certainly we'd prefer that people coming here want to play for this team. I think everyone would agree with that premise? So there's cause to work together, towards some reasonable organization of such citizenship allowances.

However, allowing each party to devise and determine it's own standards is also reasonable, imo, so long as each party is doing so within an agreed "mission statement". Something like "we'd prefer that people coming here want to play for this team and that each party agrees to screen towards that end".

So there's some middle ground on that issue, I believe.

On that topic, growing the nation through citizenships is generally, imo, a good thing. Very good. It's never been looked at in that way really, but I do indeed see bringing in new players as a serious positive.

3) Bonuses.

I agree with making every effort to restore 10/10. No debate with the AFA on that point.

4) RGR:

A lot of people detest RGR. He has a temper, and can get nasty when riled. I've been around about as long as RGR and watched most everything he's done. I'll say this: Half of what is said about him is false or greatly exagerated. But half is true. He can use filthy words when he gets pissed (as can many, many other players). And esspecially when talking with women players, this highly offends many, myself included.

Not that our women players are snow white virgins in this game either, as a rule. Some have equally filthy mouths.

RGR should be President eventually. Give him his month, he's worked harder for it than anyone I know. Equally imo, the nation wouldn't crumble to ashes were such a thing to occur.

But then, RGR needs to take a back seat in the AFA, because frankly he'll always make it a near impossibility for this party to get along with everyone else. With a less offensive leadership, the AFA has a bright future. With someone who offends so many daily, cooperation with everyone else will likely always be out of reach.

RGR and I are friends, we've always gotten along well as long as I've played, shared some great laughs. But I don't think even he would say he doesn't regret some things that have come out of his mouth. He knows he has a temper.

But he'd have to take a back seat eventually for this party to fully aclimate with the rest of the nation. That's my opinion.

I apologize for this being so long. I just thought it fair, since a member has nominated me (were I to join), to explain what my thoughts were with regards to the party in general.

You guys are huge and influential, and that alone causes the nation fear. But you can overcome that fear if, as a party, you choose to. And if, as a party, you one day choose to go that route, I would indeed be honored to count myself among you.

In the meantime, I'm honored to call so many of you friends, and enjoy my time spent serving to make your forums the best, and most civil, forums in the nation. And equally, to observe the democratic process you are using to elect your leadership, which mirrors that of every other large party in the nation nearly exactly, regardless of what others have said.

The more of your party that participates in that democracy, the better off you are. Keep it up, you guys all impress me, each and every one.

ADDITION: I think anyone who would like to be PP should throw themselves in the mix of names to consider. BUT I think that any of those same people who do so should equally agree that if they lose, they will spend the next month working hard for the party in some other role. Being PP is a job, a real job. If you think you have it in you to commit to that much time and work, take a month and prove it to your party.
