This game sure is complicated. Lots to learn. Wars, economy, politics, wow. But at least I can help my country, the United States, in my real-life state of California. Oh, California is part of Thailand. How did that happen? I thought Thailand is where you go for pretty women and spicy food. Oh well. The girls ARE pretty.
Yay! We took California back. Those Thai girls are pretty, but I wish they all could be California girls!
Think I'll build this company so I can make some food. Oops! Chile took us over. Chile? Don't they have llamas there? This is weird. Hey, why can't I work in my company? I thought I was getting this figured out. All that money wasted.

Sometimes it takes a slap in the face to gain people's attention.
Regions you should use for wam have been published and posted in several places.. California isn't one of them.
Do new players see those posts? Understand them? How often do we even control those regions?
It definitely is very hard for new players as we generally do not know what we are doing. And the missions eRepublik gives up honestly screws us. The only reason I made the right choices is because I played the game a long time ago and knew what to do.
We're almost done getting people into place.. we should control the ones listed pretty much all the time after that. We've had full bonuses in the eastern regions for a week or so now.
I'd be more sympathetic if this article was by one of those new players you speak of.. but it's not, it's by an old experienced player that has had access to the country feed and the top 5 articles since we started all this.

I recommend you stay east of Iowa and out of Virgina.. western states and Virginia seem most likely to be affected by ppl moving around in future swaps.

Well.. you could have written an article explaining it all instead of this garbage.. you guys act like there are only 3 ppl in the country responsible for helping and informing people, but never have time to do so yourselves.

And to put things in perspective.. aside from the security we gain from having allies here.. the US and her allies gain ~150k gold a month from these tw's, just in BH gold.
TP, extra rank, a pile of gold.. and some security that makes it harder to invade us.. all while enjoying full bonuses in the listed regions.
As you said, the articles are there already; me adding another one isn't going to help much, especially for new players who might not see them. Oftentimes the best way to influence things is to influence the influencers.

I'd have to learn at least one new language, and American is almost more than I can handle.
Make the tiny amount of food you can make as manager, in DC ONLY[since our military leaders[Colin] don't have so much hope for west of Iowa.
My basic advice to new players is do not take any holding without GOOD advice. Once you get one, any more cost more and more, exponentially.
