HAPPY NEW YEAR, EZ WOMEN, MEN, & FRIENDS!

Day 1,873, 17:31 Published in USA USA by BritSeelowe

Wow! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I certainly did. It was one filled with family, friends, and excess. Yes, excess. As I boarded the transport to return from leave, I saw this poster!

My first thought was why wait until after the holidays to show this to me? Like most eUSA girls, I certainly received a smart-looking dress and hat, and a diamond tiara from Santa. Though English, the poster boosted a patriotic cord for me. Though I kept my dressy new uniform, I sold my diamond tiara for raw materials to donate to Gnilraps to make tanks!

I guess I should make a resolution or two so that I can be a supportive American girl both in and out of the foxhole. My first resolution will be to make do with less! I've written my sister to ask that she send a jar of her strawberry jam. Once I have shared my taste of strawberry summer with friends, I will keep the Mason jar.

Mason jars have oodles of uses. For starters, I can make my own beauty products in one. There are so many beauty products that can be made with simple items found in the local commissary. Hair conditioners from egg and olive oil. Skin conditioners. Vanilla extract for a lovely scent that can remind anyone of sugar cookies! Easy to make and no additional purchases needed. I should be able to donate a bit for some shells by doing that this year!

It will cost nothing at all to hang out with friends who share my mantra that "beauty is our duty." We can spend time dishing on those who feel war is a reason to let themselves go, and get some great styling ideas for hair. I could probably purchase a field gun from a month of doing my own hair alone!

One of my BFFs found a great sale on gas masks, which we really did need.

We especially liked the large optical portals as our eye-art could easily be seen through them. Plus, my BFF is a huge fan of Pinterest. She found this idea to decorate them for NYE. I can practically guarantee that no one sparkled more at the New Year's party, and we look good with them in battle. How cool is that?

My other resolution is not to lose focus of what is really important. Family, friends, God, and country. An excellent start is that it appears that Fingerguns won the election - A happy start to a happy year!

I won't have trouble keeping focus for a while. My crush is currently a captive of exams necessary to pass Go from college and achieve his dreams of professional greatness...and money. Which could be used to buy more tanks and such!

So I'm boldly moving forward in 2013! To quote a wonderful race car driver, "What's behind you does not matter. What's in front of you will move or just plow through it." I can do that.
