Grand Reopening! Also, Alliance Mitosis

Day 1,786, 14:33 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by GameChanger

Hello, everybody!

My name is GameChanger, and this is my formerly defunct newspaper!
I was busy with vacations and things (not to mention school), and eRep kind of fell to the side for a while. After being active again for a few days, I decided to take up the ink and quill and start writing again.

I am not going to do long, in depth coverage of every single war anymore, as that was very time consuming. However, I can recommend this newspaper, run by the Canadian MOFA, Shoi12, who is a great guy if you want in depth, daily coverage of basically every war going on, albiet with a small touch of EDEN bias.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about the increasing regionality of alliances. 6 months ago, the only alliance made up of only close neighbors was ABC.
Now, Asgard is the local rival to ABC, and looks to be growing if Germark joins them (which I bet will happen, seeing as they continue to bail out the swedes).

CTRL (which will be a focus of my next article) is trying very hard to be a atlantic alliance, with all of its members around that area. They do not want to experience what happen to Terra, with it becoming Balkan-centric and a proxy alliance to another alliance.
I still do not know what will happen in the Balkans. An alliance will be formed, with Serbia and Hungary at the center, but as for the rest, time will tell. However, that alliance will, once again, be centered on the Balkans, not on some global scale.

CoT is technically a global alliance, but follows an opposite trend, that being towards having no true center at all. This is allowing CoT to be by far the most versatile alliance out there, having fronts all over the globe without dealing with a crowded hub. However, I don't see any other alliances doing the same.

Lastly, there is EDEN.

(sorry, had to be done)
EDEN, the old, ancient giant, is the last of its kind, at least for now. I have a feeling it is slowly coming undone, held together only by a mutual fear of the former ONE powers. Turkey has cut its ties (it has only one alliance right now, and it is attacking Iran, an EDEN ally). I expect Croatia and Romania to continue to be best buds, but the rest of the alliance... who knows?

I label this effect "Alliance Mitosis" in that the bigger alliances have/are coming apart in favor of regional allies who can more easily assist their country against enemies. If ABC or Asgard was spread out, they would be toast. Instead, they have two small, well functioning, well organized alliances where no one is neglected because of distance. You can't ignore your allies pleads for help if they are next door, and your country might be next to be attacked.

Please comment on what you thought, as well as any corrections where I screwed up.

Don't forget to make out with the "like" and "sub" buttons on the way out!

It's great to be back!
Until next time, GameChanger
