Election Special - We Endorse Only One Candidate

Day 581, 06:23 Published in Canada Canada by Rigour6

Spem Reduxit is not a partisan organ. Our agenda is clear, our manifesto is open for all to read in the pages we publish. We desire above all else the advancement of eNB, and we consider first priority in that regard to be the improvement of health care in the province. Even Q2 hospitals, as modest as they might seem, would make it possible for eNBers to fight and then gain wellness through the health system. At Q1 hospital care we can at best hope for subsistence rather than real growth.

SR's editorial board met yesterday and considered the candidacy of all members of which we are aware seeking election in the coming elections. We recognize that several of those presenting themselves are accomplished and skilled players with extensive track records. However, we must naturally question how the situation could persist for so long with only Q1 care in eNB. The clear answer is that it was not a priority, that elogic has taken priority over pride of place, and that philosophy is the one which we most directly oppose.

We also note, as we had given notice, a number of "tourists", both voters and candidates. This, again, is not a practice which Spem Reduxit has ever condoned.

In the end, although a number of good candidates were evaluated, only one was seen as worthy of official endorsement. O'Shaudy's strong stance for the building of eNB set him apart from his rivals. Accordingly, we endorse his candidature, urge all our readership to support him in the coming elections, and wish him every success.

Our promise to our readership is that we shall continue to monitor the political scene. Those who advance the cause of eNB will be supported. Those who hinder the cause of eNB will be opposed. Those who do neither will be disregarded.

We urge all our readers to vote.
