Est. 2010
Twentieth Edition: Monday, September 5, 2011

On the 5th of every month the nations of the New World begin the process of electing a new leader for their country. This is by far the most important election of the month, and the outcome of this day will determine our fate for the month to come.

Let your vote be an exercise of individual choice, a reflection of your loyalty to eIreland, and a result of the careful application of independent thought.

In an attempt to better inform the voting population, I'd like to provide some essential information about this months elections.

Campaign Articles
It's a good idea to read the campaign articles of each candidate before voting. Campaign articles most often detail the intentions and goals of a candidate, as well as often their planned cabinet.

Note: The Country President's Cabinet refers to a team of people who will be aiding the Country President in his duties. Important examples are the Minister(s) of Defence, Minister(s) of Foreign Affairs, and Minister(s) of Finance. For examples of past cabinets, look here. For a better idea of how Irish government is set up, look here.

Chance Harrison: (1) CP once more, (2) CHance.... In Office

Davorko: Not Available

Background Information
(to the best of my abilities)

Patrick O'leary: Patrick O'Leary has been elected to eIrish congress for the last three months in a row. In May 2011 he was a Deputy Minister of New Citizens. In June 2011 he was a Deputy Minister of Defence. In July 2011 and also this last month of August, he was a Minister of Defence. He has also been an Irish Citizen Army Commander. Patrick has also been the Party President of the Independent Labour Party, and he has been very active.

D-Glennon: D-Glennon was elected to eIrish congress in during the April/May 2011 term. In June and July of 2011 he was made Deputy Minister of Defence. Glennon has also been the party president of Eire Aonair for the months of July and August, and he has been very active. (wiki page:http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/D-Glennon)

Chance Harrison: Chance Harrison has been elected to congress twice, once during the May/June 2011 term, and the other during our last elections. Chance has been Minister of Defence in May and June 2011, and was already President of Ireland during the month of July 2011. This would be his second term as CP. Chance has also been an IA commander and supply officer. Chance is also active.

Davorko: Davorko has strong roots in Croatia - our close allies. He has been elected to eIrish congress once in May/June 2011. He has been the Party President of the Fenian Brotherhood for the past three months. He is a relatively quiet, but evidently active citizen.

(Disclaimer) A Moment of Indulgence In My Own Bias

I myself, am a component of the D-Glennon campaign team. As Vice President of D-Glennon's cabinet, a member of Eire Aonair, and someone who has worked with and considered D-Glennon a friend for many months, he has my support for this months Country President. He also has my full confidence. I had intended to write a campaign article for him during this month, but despite my best efforts I couldn't think of anything worth writing that could add to the very good manifestos he has already released.

As a Party President of Eire Aonair, D-Glennon has proven himself to be a level-headed, logical, and fair leader. He's shown himself to be open minded and cooperative, as over the last two months I've seen him take many steps to bring the party to new levels of communication and brainstorming. But he also has a solid tactical knowledge, and a certain ability to get the job done. I believe that his abilities as a party leader, will prove to translate beautifully to the demands of life as CP of eIreland. And did I mention that he recently won the community award for Most Trusted Politician? Not too shabby.

Of course, this month I believe we are fortunate to have several great candidates and, although I'm frankly not very familiar with Davorko, I'm confident that whatever the outcome of these elections, eIreland will be in sound hands. Good luck to all of our candidates, and to the citizens of eIrelan😛 vote wisely.
